A few years later, after losing two pregnancies and approaching her 50th birthday, Pilli was faced with a difficult reality. If she wanted to become a mother, she would need to let go of her attachment to genetics and embrace egg donation. As the COVID pandemic brought the world to a standstill, she and her partner continued pursuing what many would have considered impossible.
