Spiritual Blurriness

from A Voice For The Voiceless Inc · host Certified Life Coach Lechelle L Ramirez

You are invited to join us for a thought-provoking discussion titled "Spiritual Blurriness," featuring guest speaker Elder Tonya Lewis-Rose. The concept of blurred vision can be quite profound when viewed from a spiritual perspective. In matters of religion and belief in God, we often experience a sense of blurred vision, perceiving only what we desire to see. It is unfortunate to navigate through life, potentially missing out on God's unique plan, as our inner and spiritual eyes remain clouded. This limited vision may lead us to believe that life revolves around our desires and choices while relegating Jesus to a peripheral figure. A more constructive perspective involves recognizing Jesus as a constant friend and companion throughout every moment of our lives. It is perplexing to fathom why one would choose to traverse through life without the presence of such a guiding figure. A reflection on the Old Testament brings forth a beautiful prayer from Psalm 119, emphasizing the plea to "open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions" (verse 18), signifying the profound impact of clear vision in understanding spiritual truths. The health of our spiritual life can be compared to the well-being of our eyes. Sometimes, we may only be aware of issues once we consult a specialist. Similar to seeking expert guidance, God's Word provides the insight and clarity we need to understand and address the challenges of our spiritual journey. In the book of Matthew, Jesus expressed in 6:22-23, "𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒚𝒆 𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒔 𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒑 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚. 𝑰𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒆𝒚𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕, 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒘𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒅. 𝑯𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓, 𝒊𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒆𝒚𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒄𝒍𝒐𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒅, 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒘𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔. 𝑰𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒊𝒔 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔, 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔? "Spiritual blindness is an internal state that arises when we fixate on our own pride or our limited comprehension. As long as we presume that we fully understand reality, we remain oblivious to spiritual verities. True comprehension eludes us until we acknowledge our fallibility and recognize that certain undeniable truths are imperceptible. Life with blurry vision is dangerous. Spiritual blindness is an internal condition. We should be careful not to lose our spiritual vision (values). We Should Get a Spiritual Vision Check-up. We must change our ways of thinking, understanding, and perspectives to truly live the lives that God has called us to. When we seek unto God and commit unto him, great and marvelous things happen.
