Spiritual growth is not about trying harder or checking off religious habits. It is the ongoing process of becoming more like Jesus, which the Bible calls sanctification. The Holy Spirit is the one who begins this work in you and carries it through to completion. When you came to Christ, your old self died and you were raised to walk in newness of life. You are no longer a slave to sin but a slave to righteousness, and that changes everything. The daily battle between the flesh and the Spirit is real, but your old nature is powerless because Christ has already condemned sin in the flesh. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
