Spokane Symphony Turns the Tide | Spokane News

Spokane Symphony turns the page with fresh leadership and a brighter financial future—new directors Nelwyn Barnett and Julie Happy are steering growth after a $1M deficit, now closing the books balanced with soaring ticket sales. Barnett’s mission? Reimagining the symphony as a community powerhouse beyond the Fox Theater, reaching schools and even dementia care units. Happy’s focus? Amplifying local economic ripple effects by drawing crowds downtown. With diverse programming from ballet to blockbuster soundtracks, this is more than an orchestra—it’s the heartbeat of the Inland Northwest.
