Spokane’s Sky Patrol Saves Lives | Spokane News

Spokane’s air support unit, born in 2005, uses three high-tech helicopters to revolutionize law enforcement—from safer pursuits and disaster response to life-saving rescues. Equipped with infrared cameras, searchlights, and GPS, these flying eyes help deputies track suspects, locate missing persons, and even battle wildfires. Powered by grants and volunteer pilots—many with military backgrounds—the unit handled nearly 400 rescues and over 270 arrests last year, including a key breakthrough in a major manhunt. Fuel costs are steep, but federal funding keeps them soaring, making the sky a vital tool for public safety. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
