Hey guys, welcome to episode 14 of Inspect. So for those of you that have been listening regularly or subscribed to the podcast, you would have noticed that there's been a bit of a gap since the last episode of a few weeks. The reason for that is that a few weeks ago, my wife gave birth to our second child, a lovely little boy. So obviously things have been a bit crazy.
He decided to come a little bit early, so he threw off our timings and our schedules a little bit. But things are now getting settled and we're getting into a routine and I'm hoping to sort of get back to a regular episode schedule as well. Saying that, as I've been quite sidetracked over the past few weeks, I haven't really had much opportunity to prepare topics for the next few shows. So if there is a question you'd like answered or a topic that you'd like me to talk about, or if you'd even like to be a guest on the show and have something that you'd like to talk about as well, then do get in touch.
You can contact me via Twitter at inspectfm or you can check out the website inspect.fm, which has other details and how you can get in touch. So that leads me on to today's episode, which is a slightly different format from usual, because I'm happy to announce that Inspect now has its first ever sponsor. I've teamed up with the guys at ReactiveConf, which is a three day tech conference about the future of development. It's taking place in Brashlava, Slovakia in October on the 25th to the 27th.
There's going to be talks from more than 20 industry names, including people like Evan New, Richard Valdman, Sarah Drasner, David Nolan, Peggy Racist, and they're gonna be covering topics across the full tech stack from React to Ember and Angular to Dart, Elm, GraphQL, and everything in between as well. So the event is kind of split into, there's the main stage where the speakers will be giving their talks and there will be other companies giving lightning talks, which are just going to be like short, maybe five or 10 minute talks about a particular topic. And then there's the discovery stage. And the discovery stage is a place where you can meet the speakers and you can engage with them on, in sort of face to face, asking anything AMA sessions.
So when the speakers have given their talks on the main stage, they will then move over to the discovery stage where people can then follow up on anything that they discuss in the main topic. So they should make for a very sort of interactive conference, which is something you don't really get from any other tech conferences, a chance to actually speak to the actual speakers as well. And then on the final day, so that's how the first two days will go. And then on the final day is something called the festival day.
And the festival day focuses on the exchange of ideas and creating friendships and collaborations between the Reactive Conf attendees. So it's more of like a networking event. It takes place in a different venue, which is a little bit further out of town. The first two days take place at the old market hall, which is quite central in Breslava.
And then the festival day takes place at another venue, which is yet to be announced, which is slightly further out of town. But that's gonna be a place where attendees can network and basically just mingle and have a bit of a wind down from the event as well. And I'm sure there'll be some beverages to enjoy these things like that as well. So the good news is listeners of inspect can get 10% off any of the tickets to the conference.
All you need to do is head over to Reactiveconf.com and at the checkout while you're buying your tickets, you just need to enter their code inspect. And that can be an application, although, case, however you wanna write it, it should not matter. So just below where you select your tickets, there's a little option there to add a discount code, click on that link and then you'll be presented with a box to enter the code. And that will take off 10% from any of the available tickets.
As an added bonus, when you do purchase your ticket, you'll also receive an email which has a discount code, which will get you 15% off with Austrian Airways. So getting to the conference couldn't be easier. So no matter where you are from in Europe, you should be able to get to the conference within a few hours. And if you fly with Austrian Airways, you can get another 15% off your ticket, which is brilliant.
So yeah, once again, thank you to Reactiveconf for sponsoring the show, check out Reactiveconf.com for more information about the event, about the speakers, and obviously to buy tickets. And remember to use the code inspect to get an extra 10% off when you purchase. All right, well, thank you for listening. Like I said, this is a slightly different format to usual.
