Spooky Time Episode 23

from The Scariest Things

Liz is away in Europe, so now the boys can play! And we are on our best behavior. Halloween is rolling up, so there are a number of things coming our way that you just might want to check out. In this week’s Spooky Time: Mike announced that he will drag Eric to see The Nun 2. We really didn’t like The Nun, but the second installment at least has a good trailer. Given the Conjuringverse track record, with Annabelle improving in its second outing (Annabelle Creation), there’s hope. Speaking of horror trailers, a second Exorcist trailer is coming out, but it will be moving its release date. Is that a good sign? Speaking of The Exorcist, Mike describes a retrospective interview between horror nice guy Mick Garris, and the late William Friedkin, a notoriously prickly character. We are all excited about the upcoming Godzilla Minus-One, and we talk briefly about the new trailer that was recently released. Eric presents his favorite horror short films that he’s seen this year. There have been some good ones so far, from Portland Horror Film Festival, The Cabin in the Woods Film Festival, and Queer Screams. Robert has found an unofficial fan film sequel to Wes Craven’s New Nightmare featuring Miko Hughes (Dylan, Heather Langenkamps’s son from Craven’s New Nightmare and also Gage Creed from Pet Sematary), not surprisingly called Dylan’s New Nightmare. Robert has a knack for finding franchise fan films, and this one seems really promising. That’s it for this week! Liz will be back next week to restore order to the proceedings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkhP4CBfjCM
