His most recent project, a show for the Brighton Festival 'Enjoying Alan Bennett', was huge success. He's currently working on his new, as yet untitled, stage play. When he's not writing Gary plays the electric guitar (with enthusiasm rather than finesse), paints, reads voraciously, appears on radio reviewing books and discussing matters literary. He also teaches creative writing.
