Spotlight on Future Leaders: Meet Four of PCA's Inspiring Middle Schoolers

from PCA Podcasts · host Mike Runey

Welcome to this week's episode of "Mondays with Mike." I'm Mike Runey, the head of school at Portsmouth Christian Academy. Today, I have the pleasure of introducing some exceptional 7th and 8th-grade students who exemplify what it means to be scholars, athletes, artists, and leaders. As we approach the 5th week of the 24-25 school year, these students have already made a remarkable start. I'm excited for you to hear their stories and insights on how they are learning and influencing others for good. Let's begin by getting to know them a bit better. First, we meet James from Portsmouth, New Hampshire. In his second year at PCA, James shines as a scholar and an artist, participating in theater and excelling in his studies. His dedication to continuous learning and his goal of improving study habits are truly commendable. Next, Lily from Dover shares her journey as a scholar-athlete involved in volleyball and the fall production of Charlotte's Web. With a personal goal to read 50 books in 2024 and achieve highest honors, Lily's passion for theater and academics is inspiring. Lawson from Rollinsford, New Hampshire, has been at PCA for ten years. Known for his athleticism and musical talent, Lawson plays multiple sports and the saxophone. His ambition to achieve highest honors and improve in sports showcases his drive and commitment. Lastly, Mckayla from Danville, New Hampshire, talks about her roles as a scholar and athlete. Excelling in volleyball and softball, Mckayla aims to achieve honors this year while balancing her sports and academic commitments. These students also reflect on how they manage their busy schedules, seek guidance from teachers and mentors, and grow in their faith. From daily devotions to impactful experiences at church camps, they share how they navigate challenges and strive to be positive influences on their peers. As the episode concludes, we hear about their hopes for the year ahead and how they aim to see God at work in their lives. Their stories of bravery, respect, humility, and leadership are truly uplifting. I hope you're as encouraged as I am by these remarkable students. Please keep them and their classmates in your prayers as they continue to grow and excel at Portsmouth Christian Academy. Thank you for joining us, and we'll see you around campus.
