Tamron Little is a wife, mom of four, and 15-year and counting peritoneal mesothelioma survivor. Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer that affects the cells that make up the mesothelium. The mesothelium is the lining or membrane that covers and protects various internal organs of the body. These are mesothelioma in the: covering of the lung (pleural mesothelioma) lining of the tummy (peritoneal mesothelioma). 3. Asbestos is associated with the development of mesothelioma when asbestos fibers are inhaled or swallowed and then attach to tissues lining the respiratory and/or digestive tracts. 4.
