Spring in the Driftless: Turkey, Trout, and Morels

It’s hard to beat a beautiful spring morning in the Wisconsin Driftless! The turkeys are gobbling, the fish are biting, and the morels are popping! But even the most beautiful weather days in picturesque terrain can be a grind. In this episode of the Wisconsin Sportsman podcast, Josh talks with Pierce Nelles of Good Chance Fly Fishing about their recent romp through Wisconsin’s Driftless area. While they were hoping to get a couple of longbeards on the ground, a sack full of morels, and sore arms from fighting fish, the day didn’t go exactly as planned. There was not a morel in sight and the gobblers were simply not interested in playing the game.
