In our story John The Baptist is imprisoned by the king and begins to doubt if Jesus is really who He said; he probably questions to himself, is He really the Messiah? Although Jesus heals the sick, cures the lame, restores sight and casts out demonic beings, John can only see his situation and seeks confirmation of Jesus’ deity. John may not have witnessed the mighty and compassionate things that Jesus did, but those in which He helped all knew that only Jesus can heal their hurting lives and this hurting world. Have you been hurt? In your life, the doctor may make you feel better and the police may give temporary peace but only Jesus can heal this hurting world. Will John maintain his worry and remain troubled by his doubt?
