SS #006: The Apartment Sessions with Clay Christofferson

Clay drove all the way to Concrete, WA for this special episode. He lives in Iowa, so that's a long drive. Resistance tried to prevent us from recording this debut conversation between two Skagit Valley trivia hosts, but alas, we looked Resistance in it's face and said, "NOT TODAY". I babble about running a lot in this and for that, I'm sorry. I'm not sorry that I run, I'm just sorry I talked about it so much. I could have edited it all out but I'm a few episodes into this podcast and to be honest, I'm really over editing. We swear a little bit, but it's not too bad. Go see Clay for trivia at the Lyman Tavern on Tuesdays or at Farmstrong in Mount Vernon on Wednesdays.A few clarifications:- The book I refer to is called "The War of Art" by Steven Pressfield. In my opinion, a must have for any creative person.- The Matt Mays song I was referring to is called Cocaine Cowgirl, not Cocaine Cowboy.- Jack Mattingly said he would definitely listen to this episode, despite my prediction that he definitely wouldn't.- I'm sure Mount Vernon has a great hospital now.- John Maxwell is a world-class ultra runner who lives behind us in Sedro-Woolley. I love his whole family and can't wait to have them on the podcast.- Kyle Wilson loaned me all the Chuck Palahniuk books and I hope he agrees to sit down with me and record one day.- The ads for the Hub are fantastic, thanks to Clay. "Liz does Concrete" might be the new name of my trivia night (Wednesdays all summer at the Hub).- I talk about Olive's health a little bit. She was diagnosed with Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis in early September 2022. If you know Olive, you know she's a very active kid and it upended our world. We are thankfully on the better side of this now, but the world was pretty dark in the Fall.
