Abuse isn't discussed the same way we discuss other issues in our communities. Otherwise well meaning people sometimes end up working to silence victims of abuse when they need community support the most. People in groups tend to respond poorly when someone or something threatens the group dynamic and often, victims take the brunt of that response.
