[§136] A Dreadful Beast: Dominion in the Roman Empire

from Unveiling Jesus Christ

This podcast explains the image of the dreadful, terrible, and exceedingly strong beast in Daniel 7:6. This indescribable beast represents Satan's power in the Roman Empire beginning with the defeat of the Greek Empire in about 160 BC. The power of Satan that existed in the Babylonian, Medo-Persia and Greek Empires continued to grow in the Roman empire to the point that Daniel had no beast known to mankind that could explain what he saw. The horrible beast was diverse from the kingdoms before it, and it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue of the Jews in 70 AD when Titus destroyed Jerusalem and the temple in 70 AD in the "abomination of desolation" predicted by Christ in Matthew 24:15. The beast also killed and persecuted Christians for almost 300 years, before Constantine made an apostate and degenerate form of Christianity the state religion of Rome, and the beast and Constantinian Christianity then became as one.
