[§210] Rev 12:12: Woe to the Earth for Satan’s Time Is Short
This podcast explains and interprets the meaning of the words found in Revelation 12:12 which state: "Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” The meridian of time and the atonement of Jesus Christ is context and timing for this woe. It cannot relate to the physical creation of this earth when Satan was cast down because, among other reasons discussed herein, there were no inhabiters to warn when Satan was cast down to this earth at the physical creation of the earth. The woe in Revelation 12:12 is pronounced on the inhabiters after the atonement of Jesus Christ. Satan then knew that Christ had the victory. As Christ rose to power and victory, Satan fell spiritually. Satan's knew about the atonement and its effects because Satan retained his memories of all that had transpired in premortality. Thus, he knew that when the atonement was complete, he had only a very short time between the atonement and the Second Coming to destroy the souls of men. The time between the atonement and Second Coming is extremely short when compared to the millions of years that Satan has been fighting against Christ since the time of the heavenly grand council in premortality.
