[§305] Rev 19:1-3: A Great Voice of Much People Praise Jesus Christ
This podcast explains and interprets the imagery and symbolism used by John in Revelation 19:1-3, which states: “AND after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.” The much people in heaven are the redeemed Saints who rejoice because of the destruction and final desolation of Modern Babylon in Revelation 18. They proclaim alleluia (“praise ye Jehovah”) in a four-part doxology because Jehovah, who is also Jesus Christ, has been their salvation. They give glory, honor, and power to him as the Lord God Almighty. Christ’s judgments against the wicked people of Babylon are true and righteous because these are his godly attributes. His righteous judgments require the destruction of Babylon and the great whore because she corrupted the earth and killed the saints of God. The saints proclaim a second alleluia, in recognition of Babylon's double judgment, including the desolation of Babylon will continue like smoke that rises up forever and ever.
