[§306] Rev 19:4: The 24 Elders and Four Beasts Worship Jesus Christ

from Unveiling Jesus Christ

This podcast explains the imagery and symbolism used by John in Revelation 19:4-6, which states: “And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.” The four and twenty elders (24 Elders) represent exaltation-worthy saints that John first identified in Revelation chapter 4 as disembodied spirits in celestial paradise as of 96 AD, when John had his vision on Patmos island. This class of exaltation worthy saints continues to grow into a great multitude that John saw in his second vision of celestial paradise in Revelation 7. His second vision of paradise coincides in time with the end of the Second Woe. These 24 Elders ultimately become the 144,000 servants that stand in the flesh with the Lamb (Jesus Christ) as redeemed and resurrected Saints on heavenly Mount Zion in Revelation 14:1. In Revelation 19, the 24 Elders (representing exaltation worthy saints from all dispensations of time) praise both God the Father and Jesus Christ, as the Lord God Almighty. John also saw and heard the Four Beasts worship the Father and the Son. These Four Beasts represent the four classes of all creation, which John saw during his first vision of celestial paradise in Revelation chapter 4. The four beasts represent those classes whose measure of creation is celestial glory, including humans, animals, plants, and minerals. All classes of creation praise God the Father and Jesus Christ for their creative role and their redemptive role in the plan of salvation, respectively. The collective voices of the 24 Elders and the Four Beasts are so loud that they are described metaphorically as the sound of many waters and mighty thunderings.
