SSS: "The Shining", "Doctor Sleep" And A Traditional Dutch Drink
from Horror Movie Franchises · host Horror Movie Franchises
NOTE: This podcast was rebranded on 5/29/25 as "Horror Movie Franchises". This week we're covering a VERY heavy hitter. Often considered the best horror movie ever, 1980's "The Shining" was directed by Stanley Kubrick. It's sequel just came out this year. "Doctor Sleep" was directed by Mike Flanagan. Both movies are based on Stephen King's books by the same name. This week's recipe is derived from a drink that Grady spills on Jack in the ball room. It's Advocaat and is a yellow Dutch liqueur. It is sometimes a topping for waffles, pancakes, ice cream and other deserts. It can used as part of a thicker custard egg nog. See recipe from SpruceEats.com Here It's also an ingredient in several drinks including the Snowball, the Fluffy Duck and the Bombardino. Photo Credit: Here
