Scrittrice, traduttrice, educatrice, prese la licenza liceale a Macerata e la sua casa di famiglia si trova a Fermo dove trascorse gli ultimi anni della sua vita. Questa dimora ricca di memorie storiche e culturali è stata recentemente messa in vendita suscitando appelli affinché venga trasformata in un museo in suo ricordo. Dopo la sua morte nasce il centro internazionale Joyce Lussu la cui presidente Luisa Serroni e socio fondatore Luigi Rossi sono qui con noi a prestare la loro voce e le loro testimonianze per riviverla e farla rivivere nel suo massimo insegnamento: la didattica del riscatto del popolo.
