St. Louis Homicides Drop Thanks to Community Strategy | St. Louis News

St. Louis is seeing a major drop in homicides this year, with 80 killings through August—down from 96 last year and 139 in 2022—thanks to the Save Lives Now initiative. This citywide, even countywide effort brings together police, community leaders, and intervention teams to stop violence before it starts. Families of victims, like Precious Jones, are turning grief into action, fueling grassroots prevention. Police Chief Robert Tracy warns the work isn’t finished, urging continued collaboration across jurisdictions to keep pushing numbers down. It’s a complex challenge, but progress is being made when communities and law enforcement unite. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
