St. Thomas President Resigns Amid Investigation | Miami News

St. Thomas University’s president, David Armstrong, has abruptly resigned amid swirling controversy and secrecy — his departure announced through a crisis firm with no details on why he was placed on administrative leave in July over alleged policy violations. The timing coincides with a lawsuit from a former admissions director who claims she was fired just five weeks after requesting medical leave for COPD, despite stellar reviews including a perfect 100% rating months prior. Now, Father Rafael Capo steps in as interim president while the board begins a national search — all as the university keeps its cards close to the chest, leaving questions unanswered and tensions mounting.
