Stacey Simms, is an award-winning broadcaster, podcaster, voiceover actor and speaker. She produces and hosts the weekly podcast, Diabetes Connections.  Stacey has been named to the Charlotte Business Journal's Forty under 40 and as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Mecklenburg County by the Mecklenburg Times. She is a well-known and highly rated speaker, addressing groups on topics including diabetes, parenting and media.  For more than a decade, Stacey hosted Charlotte's top-rated morning radio news show and worked as a TV news anchor and reporter in Charlotte, NC and in Syracuse and Utica, New York. She's won several Associated Press awards as a TV medical reporter. In December of 2006 her son Benny was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, just one month prior to him turning two. Stacey began writing about diabetes one month later and published the book 'The World's Worst Diabetes Mom' and an award-winning cookbook, 'I Can't Cook, But I Know Someone Who Can', in which she donates all profits to the Charlotte Chapter of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation also known as the JDRF.
