PODCASTER SENIOR: Prof. Francesco Saccà;PODCASTER JUNIOR: Dr.ssa Giulia Greco;RAZIONALE:La Miastenia Gravis (MG) è una patologia neuromuscolare autoimmune caratterizzata principalmente da faticabilità muscolare post-esercizio, generalizzata o confinata alla sola muscolatura estrinseca oculare, determinata dalla presenza di autoanticorpi rivolti contro diverse componenti della giunzione neuromuscolare, quali gli anti-AChR, anti-MuSK o anti-LRP4. Pazienti clinicamente affetti in cui non sia riscontrata positività per nessuno dei suddetti anticorpi, vengono considerati sieronegativi.Fino a qualche anno fa, l’approccio terapeutico per i pazienti affetti da MG era limitato all’utilizzo, talora combinato, di farmaci sintomatici (es. piridostigmina bromuro), corticosteroidi e/o immunosoppressori non steroidei, con estrema variabilità nella risposta clinica.Negli ultimi anni, grazie all’avvento di nuovi farmaci lo scenario è finalmente cambiato, permettendo di trattare in maniera efficace anche pazienti non responsivi ai trattamenti di prima linea.
