Roberto De Icco & Dott.ssa Ilaria CettaNella puntata di oggi parleremo di un tema molto attuale e di grande interesse per la gestione delle cefalee primarie, tra cui le cefalee autonomiche-trigeminali e l’emicrania, ovvero i blocchi antalgici con un particolare focus sul blocco del nervo grande occipitale. L’emicrania è una patologia neurologica molto complessa con altissima prevalenza nella popolazione generale, in particolare interessa soggetti giovani di sesso femminile. Alla luce dell’elevato burden della patologia, la ricerca scientifica è stata altamente produttiva negli ultimi 30 anni, tanto che recentemente abbiamo assistito ad una vera e propria rivoluzione nel panorama terapeutico dell’emicrania grazie all’introduzione di nuove molecole, tra cui gli anticorpi monoclonali anti-CGRP, gepanti, ditani. Il blocco del nervo grande occipitale invece rappresenta un’opzione terapeutica a disposizione già da molto tempo, ma si tratta una risorsa sempre più utilizzata nella pratica clinica attuale. Ma quali sono le reali evidenze scientifiche alla base del suo impiego? E le diverse indicazioni terapeutiche?
