Stags Stories: Neal Bishop

A year ago today (7th March) not only did supporters not know they wouldn’t be attending a game again for the foreseeable future, but midfielder Neal Bishop didn’t know he’d played his last game for the Stags.Having signed the previous summer, Bishop was an integral part of a Mansfield Town side which pushed for, but ultimately failed to gain, promotion. The following season was a struggle and a change in management, twice, helped the former Notts County and Blackpool man make the decision to hang up his boots at the end of the season and his contract.As Covid prevented a proper send-off, Craig, Nathan and Cam sit down with Bish to reflect on his time at the club – from wonder strikes at West Brom to storming out of team meetings as team mates show a lack of respect to the management, there’s no holding back, as Bish recalls his Stags Story.
