Stamily: Raising Global Awareness For Those Who Stammer

from My Stuttering Life · host Pedro Pena

Today's featured guest is Jurjen de Jong.  Jurjen is 26 years old and has stuttered since the age of 7.  He became involved in the world of people who stutter since attending a youth exchange that he joined last year in Italy. This inspired him to start the platform Stamily, where people who stutter can share their stories, raise awareness and form a community. Since last summer this platform is growing rapidly. Jurjen studied mathematics, physics, astronomy, and space studies in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Sweden, and now work as a data scientist and freelance science journalist. His hobbies include traveling and sports and loves to learn about cultures, science, history, and languages.  I believe that there is healing in sharing and I would like to Thank Jurjen de Jong for sharing his story with us.  For more information on Jurjen de Jong & Stamily: URLs: Stamily - www.stamily.org - https://www.facebook.com/Stamily-103160291064269 - https://www.instagram.com/stamilyyouth/ Personal - https://www.instagram.com/jurjong/ - https://www.linkedin.com/in/jurjendejong93/ - https://www.facebook.com/JurjendeJong Thank you to Epidemic Sound for the intro/outro music.  https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Thank you Dylan C. from the Knight Reader podcast:   https://www.facebook.com/KnightReaderCast/ for that FANTASTIC PODCAST INTRODUCTION !!!!  You can find more information about this fantastic podcast at https://linktr.ee/knightreaderpodcast.
