Pastor discusses the relationship between the leadership in the church and the younger members in the church. You have responsibilty to submit yourself to the elders/authority. It is not the church leader's responsibilty to enforce you to submit. Similar to the military command to "Stand down", you are to remove yourself from challenging them. Hebrews 13:15-17. We all have the expectation to be submissive to God and the Bible. You choose to submit and obey and to respect his office in the church. Howevere we still challenge things done in the church in disobedience. Some prophets/pastors preach out of grief to a sinful church. Som preach out of joy to a people who want to learn and obey. 1 Timothy 5:17-20. It is not telling you to feed and pay your pastor. If an ox labors to provide you with food, you feed the ox. If your pastor feeds you spiritually, you should show double spiritual honor. Pray for your pastor rather than against him. Give him the respect of his office. Walk in truth. Be alert in church, on time, ready and prepared. 1 Timothy 4:12-16. You should be pursuing/meditating on the Word and your spiritual gift. It should be evident of your progress in your walk/faith. Philippians 1:21-30; 3:7-16. Paul was late in his ministry, but he continues to press on/attain/progress.
