Textbook commissions, especially from Texas, decide what ideas will be within any book. Biases are evident. Thomas Jefferson was dropped. Yet, these American History texts have constituted the only books a child may read on the subject. Most History teachers have not majored in History. Political pressure now makes textbooks promote special interest groups.
