Standing Before God

from IKOYI BAPTIST CHURCH's Podcast · host Rev. Michael Onyegbu

Say HiIn recent weeks the Lord has challenged us on the need to draw near to Him and build intimacy. As we press on with the call for intimacy with God, we will peep into the scriptural book for 2021 to guide our thought for today. Have you imagined what it would look like standing before God?The scripture says that He dwells in inapproachable light (1 Timothy 6:16). His eyes cannot behold sin (Habakkuk 1:13), yet, we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10). Standing before God could mean so many things to so many people depending on how we choose to use the word. Using the example of Elijah, we can conclude that standing before God could mean:- Position and authority in God (1 Kings 17:1)- Promise that should be trusted (1 Kings 18:15)- Pronouncement of a sure relationship (2 Kings 3:14)- Possible expectation of divine judgement. If standing before God opens us to a possibleexpectation of judgment, then we must set our house in order.Click Here To Read Morewww.ikoyibaptistchurch.org, instagram.com/@ikoyibaptisthurch, facebook.com/@ikoyibaptistchurch, x.com/@ikoyibaptistchurch.
