"Standing Firm in God’s Grace"

from "Prayer Changes Everything" Devotion for Today · host Y.E.S. Jesus Youth Encountering Savior Jesus

December 23, 2024 Daily Devotion: "Standing Firm in God’s Grace" 1 Peter 5:12-14 New Living Translation 12 I have written and sent this short letter to you with the help of Silas, [a] whom I commend to you as a faithful brother. My purpose in writing is to encourage you and assure you that what you are experiencing is truly part of God’s grace for you. Stand firm in this grace. 13 Your sister church here in Babylon[b] sends you greetings, and so does my son Mark. 14 Greet each other with a kiss of love. Peace be with all of you who are in Christ. In 1 Peter 5:12-14, the apostle Peter concludes his letter with encouragement, reassurance, and a call to unity among believers. He writes, "With the help of Silas, whom I regard as a faithful brother, I have written to you briefly, encouraging you and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand fast in it. She who is in Babylon, chosen together with you, sends you her greetings, and so does my son Mark. Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace to all of you who are in Christ" (1 Peter 5:12-14, NIV). Peter emphasizes the importance of standing firm in God's grace amidst trials. He acknowledges the communal aspect of faith, urging believers to support and greet one another in love. This serves as a reminder that we are part of a larger body of Christ, and we should encourage one another. As we reflect on these verses, consider how you can stand firm in God's grace this week and encourage your fellow believers. Remember, our unity and mutual love showcase Christ to the world (John 13:35). Let us pray for strength and courage to live out our faith authentically and lovingly.
