Standing Up For Your Kids

from Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Things

In episode 442, I chat with Lauren Johnson about her journey into parenting and how Amazon's new device Alexa caused bullying for her daughter Alexa.  After realizing how it was upsetting her daughter, she began to write a petition to change the name the device uses to function.  In her journey, she found other women and parents also feeling the same as though the device was creating more sexual harassment and bullying incidents to happen.  She talks about her love for the technology and Amazon, but how her goal is to simply change the name used to activate the device and how it can change the way we speak to women.  Plus she also gives advice on how other parents can stand up for their kids and make a difference.
