the dead of night as people sleep. That's when the spirits creep. As the bell tolls three, dark things take power. We like to call it the supernatural hour.

But first, before we get into anything, I'm Tim. I'm Raiden. Chad. And this week we had a really awesome topic lined up for you, but we wanted to say it from our own searches actually here.

So we're gonna actually record this week. We're probably gonna do three episodes in a row. We normally do every other week, but we'll kind of go from there and see where we end up. You might get a bonus episode.

So before we get too much into it, is there any recent investigation you want to talk about? Yes, actually. We went on one just last week. It's actually quite an active words.

Words are hard. It was an active investigation. It was actually quite dark. We had some out of type three.

And the type three that was there. I guess, okay, so let's go back. So what kind of activity did they have there? They had a lot of knocking.

There was a, so the person that called us actually had lived in the house and then her friend moved in. And when the lady that called us lived there, she had some activity. And then when the lady moved in, you know, her friend moved in, you know, and by activity, you know, they could see some shadows and they could hear some voices. Kind of your typical, you know, paranormal activity that you've got that goes to your house.

But then there was a like a crawlspace under the house and there's a door. And I guess the people that had lived there, you know, the people that called me, they had never opened it. I mean, they knew what it was, but they never knew what it was. Well, the new people that moved in for whatever reason decided to open it, I would open it.

I would be like, hey, where does this go? I told the police would open it. But they had never to that point opened it. And when they did, they found an article of their clothing down in there.

And they were like, how can this be here? We've never opened it. You know, how would this get here? And you might say, oh, the kids would have been there.

Well, the only child in the home is a year old, but there's no way this one-year-old baby could open that hole on. They said it was almost like Pandora's Box after they opened it, kind of all hell broke loose. The lady who lives there is a lady, her son and daughter-in-law and their one-year-old child, well, daughter or mom was coming home one day. Nobody in the house that she could see three shadows, you know, walking along.

And the curtains open. And you'll see the curtains open and you'll just think that should not be happening when there's nobody inside. And she was understandably scared. If your noise is, they would hear visible, audible words being spoken, you know, going down to the basement and they felt very, very dark down there.

So the entity which is downstairs is negative, but it's attached to the land and there's, we were unable to make it leave. But we were able to contain it, so it doesn't bother her. But I tell you what, when we were after we contained it, it sure made a lot of ruckus downstairs. I'd never heard of type 3 make so much noise.

It was, it was, it was meant that we contained it to this whole area. Um, the, I'm trying to think what the other entities were. Oh, um, the biggest issue that we feel is there with an entity that is attached to the sun for some reason. And we are still actually- To the sun meaning the trite.

Not the sun meaning the big orbit in the sky. Yes, so the, sorry. Read my mind folks, read my mind, um, yeah, to the homeowner's son. And that just kind of came about from some stuff in the past.

And when we were there, he was not very open to having it dealt with. I think a lot of that was just fear. And we're actually, this is still a case in progress because, uh, the homeowner has been contacting me. Apparently the sun wants to have a dealt with and we're kind of still a case in progress.

So we will give you updates. Hopefully the next time, um, we have a podcast that it's, it's pretty interesting. For me, the, the biggest deal was just hearing that, um, type 3 spirit in the basement contained was the one that square making a, making a ruckus. Um, and I think for me, the other thing too was watching the homeowner who when we first got there was terrified, you know, and was reluctant even to enter her own home or her own basement.

And just, you know, letting her know that as someone with the body and someone that's alive, we have dominion over the spirits. And, you know, to watch her learn how to take control of her home and, um, you know, pick control of the situation was kind of sense. So the investigation, when I actually took Deland Derek was after recording the last podcast. There was a lady, this is actually sort of repeat investigation a couple of years ago.

She actually moved into a new home and was there for about a year or so before she started having problems. Um, some of the issues that she said she was having was her bed would start, uh, pulsating. Like in the middle, like they said it was kind of like a heartbeat and they could actually like, uh, her daughter was over there when we went out there and they actually said right before we showed up, they actually see the bed in the middle kind of like pulsating, like it was like a heartbeat. Oh, that's not creepy at all.

Um, and really quick, before you get too far into yours, that reminded me one of the things that, um, this lady said was her daughter-in-law would actually have something grab her foot and try to lower up. Yeah. So back to you. So some of the other activities she was having, she would see random like clouds or stuff at night when she was trying to sleep.

And she said it looked like a web coming towards her, kind of like a fishing net, more or less. Uh, she did take some pictures and they weren't the greatest, but in one of them, you could actually make out an arm in the hand. Uh, this is something that lives by herself. Um, there's nobody else in the house and she's just, her husband passed away years ago and she's in this nice little condo townhouse thing by herself.

And uh, there's other activity that she's having when she put a bed, she'd have her garage door shut locked at night and she'd wake up and it'd be open in the morning. Um, so through our investigation, we actually found that there were, um, two spirits in the home. Uh, one being a little girl. Technically, there was three.

One was her daughter that was actually at her last house as well. So you just kind of think that watches over her. She's across over spirits. So she was actually doing anything.

There was a little girl there as well. Uh, we didn't get too much information from her. We kind of got the feeling that she was more worried about the other spirits. We kind of looked into that one.

Um, now I originally thought that it was a male spirit that was just kind of having fun torturing her. I either would have ended up actually being in the, that's someone, uh, we, Brandy actually, offered to help me with this one. Uh, she sent Annie over and, and reported back to her what she saw. And I guess it was actually a woman, probably about her 30s that had actually committed suicide and was upset about that.

It's like, I guess her life was difficult. And so she decided to commit suicide, but I guess that wasn't what she really wanted to do. So she's upset herself for taking her life. And this poor woman happened to be caught in the middle of this.

And the spirit was just kind of like pushing all this negative energy out. And what we ended up doing is kind of clearing out that negative energy and asking that spirit to, well, we, uh, I'm teaching Dell how to move energy as well. Um, Dan, see me do this on investigations where I can kind of tap into a spirit energy and just kind of like, okay, you're outside now. I'm just kind of, I can manipulate the energy and move them.

Um, so I had Dell do it. And it was interesting to see, because everyone does everything different. The way he described it was it was like a rope was tied to his wrist and it went to the wrist of the spirit and he walked them outside. So it's just different to see how everybody does it.

I've actually seen Brandi do it where she's, that's the brandy that it was with a type three or an inhuman spirit. She actually put it into a box and I've seen Kay do this as well. They put it into like a little boxer bubble and then carry that outside. But seeing Dell the way he did it was fascinating because it just, it shows it like all the different ways that things can be done.

So we actually have to get the spirit out of the house and we staged the house and, um, I kind of tried to seal the energy around the door just so the spirit wouldn't want to come back in. They were both one, the little girl was the type one spirit, the older female spirit that came to sense suicide was a type two. I believe the A just because she wasn't being manipulated or anything. She was just pissed off at the situation more or less like unhappy that she killed herself.

So we were actually able to actually get the negative energy out of the home. It's been a couple of weeks and the last I checked, I actually worked with her nephew as someone I worked with and he keeps me posted. She said the night that we were there, it's the most peaceful sleep that she's gotten in months. And every time I check in with them, he says everything is still going just right there.

So it is possible that you know actually we could stir back up and highly doubt it. I think that spirit has decided to move on. Awesome. Yeah, and I kind of suck at telling stories really.

So going back to the one I was talking about, there was a female type one of the basement who had died in the area. She was afraid of the type three. Anyway, she got a lot on her way. She got recognized.

What she got recognized? I was more focused on the types three. Is that the one that they wanted some recognition or planned? Was that another investigation?

Yes. So she had a child or herself was actually buried in the corner of the house. Something was buried in the corner of the house. Sorry, what do we got?

There we actually split up into two teams. I'm really not as lame as I sound. And the other half of the team kind of dealt more with the type one spirit. I was more dealing with the type three spirit, but I think she just wanted recognition for the child at hers that was buried kind of near the corner of the house.

And so she just asked the homeowners to plant a flower in that spot for some recognition. And then she was happy. So sorry that my family tells that story was all over the place. Holy cow, I'll be better on the next one.

We will report back on this house again next week. Also, if you remember, in our last podcast, we thought we might have an EDP from Emmet. And I think we went back and people thought that wasn't that just lurch sign or maybe. It might have been him just taking a breath between words.

It could have been someone breathing heavily. It was not an EDP though. Yeah, so much thought we'd report back on that. So we have an event coming up soon.

We do. We are going to be at the Mercer. I like to say, Merker. Merker.

You like to say Mercer. It's the Merker sanitary. Anyway, apparently I say it wrong. So it's out in the boonies.

If you've never been there, it's going to be on September 19th at what time of we said. 7.30. We will have tickets up on Eventbrite for this event in a day or two. So just by the time you get this recording, it'll be up.

That's true. So just go to advancedparanormalservices.com and get your tickets. A couple of things, it will say this on the website. But if you plan on coming to this, it is like as boonyville as you can get.

There are no toilets. There are no sinks. There's a place to park your car. There's a cemetery.

And there's rattlesnakes. That's literally about all that's there. No running water. So bring water, bring a chair, wear boots because if you get by rattlesnake, that's your own deal.

Long pants, I would suggest, you know. Now I have been out there a couple times and I have never seen a rattlesnake myself. But our team has been out there. People from our team have been out there and they have seen rattlesnakes and did some happy dances.

And rattles and lizards and other things too. So the possibility is there. So just be prepared. Go to the bathroom before you come and don't drink a lot because there's not even any trees to go use.

You're going to have to just, I guess they could either some juniper or the hill. There's a few places you can hide and go potty-cane too. It's about 60 miles from Salt Lake. Takes about an hour to get there and there will be directions with the tickets and the events.

Well, and you're coming from down south, you can always come up through San Francisco Springs around the backside of the mountain. Right. So I've actually investigated there a couple times like I said, it's pretty active and it's all clean. It's out in the air.

So if you're concerned about social distancing, it should be pretty simple. Bring your mask if that makes you feel more comfortable. But I think it'll be a good time. I've never been out there where there's been nothing.

If I remember, there's a spirit out there that I named David who's pretty cool and we'll talk to you all night if you let him. Yeah, and it is primitive. I mean, the cemetery has been abandoned probably for close to 100 years now. It's kind of cool.

It's got some fences around plots and things like that. We're limiting it. It's going to be just 20 guests. The reason for that is while it's a wide open area, the cemetery is a relatively small area and when you get out there, sound carries.

So we want to have quality investigation and not have too many people. It isn't cemetery so please be respectful in that regards. Also at our next podcast, we've got some really fun stuff coming up for October. So we're not going to tell you about that now.

If you want to find out about it, you got some minutes. Well, I guess that's how we roll. But it's going to be super fun. We've got two things coming up.

We're working on some things and we'll have them on the events per normal site. So tell your friends because Spook season is the best. All right. Well, I'm looking forward to you guys doing those events.

So this week, we were going to talk about torture devices. So it's one of the next week. That's one we're actually going to talk about. And it's actually super cool.

I'm super excited about it. There's so many and we kind of have a list that we were going to go down and talk about other gruesome ways that people used to get tortured and killed. But not today. Today, because we wanted, we really wanted to be here.

He really wanted to be here for that topic. So this is kind of just a spur of the moment topic. We decided because last week we kind of talked about Raven and Chad's recent trip to the Ronald Penitentiary. And we talked about how five years ago we all went there.

Also on that trip, we visited the Stanley Hotel. So we figured as kind of like a little bit of a continuation from last week about the little bit of talking we did about the Ronald Penitentiary, we wanted to talk about the Stanley Hotel this week and a little bit about our experience there and kind of why it's haunted or what goes on at the Stanley Hotel. So as most people already know, starting out with this, if you've ever not lived in a box, I'm pretty sure you've heard of the Shining, the book, the movie, and the miniseries. The book was written originally by Stephen King, and it was after he had, I believe it was going to spend the winter there or he was spending the night there or something.

And they were kind of closing up the hotel for the winter season. And just the creepy vibes and feeling he got from the hotel gave him the inspiration to write the Shining. Now if you've only seen the movie and never read the book, I can tell you right now, the book is way scarier and more gruesome than the movie. I mean, the book is better than the movie.

Yes. Wow. I need to read the book. I just know the movie.

The movie is good. It's really well. They did it really well. Stanley Kubrick did a great job, according to everybody about Stephen King.

Stephen King was actually upset with the way that they did the movie, especially with Shelley Devalle's character. Shelly is a Shelley Devalle's. Her character, I can't remember the name of the character, John O'Blick. I know it's Jack Torrance, Danny Torrance, and Mrs.

Torrance. Mrs. Torrance. They made her to be out this like weak individual that was just timid and scared all the time, and that's actually not how the character was on the book.

So Stephen King actually redid and had a TV mini-series made in the 90s, a three-part series, and that one was actually filmed at the Stanley Hotel. It's really interesting. It's a lot closer to what the events happen in the book. It's just not as graphic and gruesome as the book.

Now if you've never seen the Shining, the original Shining with Jack Nicholson and you're interested and you just can't find it anywhere, just go there. Wendy Torrance. Sorry. That's okay.

Just go to the Stanley because they literally have a channel that's the Shining 24-7. They have like a little in the basement where they have the medium, and they also have a little meeting room where we sat and they gave us a briefing before we did our ghost tour there. They actually walked us through and showed us some of the hot spots and stuff like that. It was fascinating.

Having seen the mini-series after we've been there, it was fascinating to watch the mini-series and be like, oh, I've been in that room. I've been there. They have them in the basement in the boiler room, and that's one of the parts they actually took on the tour. And the main office area in the mini-series is where we sat and where they started the ghost tour.

And it was just kind of cool to see the main lobby when we walked in. There's actually a picture on Facebook somewhere of Raven and Peaches putting their head through the cardboard cutout as the twins from the movie. That's right there when you first walk in, and the main lobby, and it's just fascinating to see like all the stuff, which is like, oh my gosh, I've been there. I've been there.

It's awesome. Yeah, the hotel in and of itself, so it's in a little town in Colorado called Estes Park. And when I was in high school, I was in a backlight band and they actually have a backlight competition. They're right around Labor Day, I think.

And so I'd actually been to Estes Park four times in high school, and we would walk up to the Stanley Hotel because we'd have some time to produce a little town. If you've never been to Estes Park, I highly suggest going there. It's just the cutest little tourist town you've ever seen. Yeah, and it's their Rocky Mountain National Park.

That's the same. One of the years, actually, what they're in college too, is I've been there five times with Pike Band. But there's a little K away. You can go around the entire cabinet.

It's just a really great little area, but we would walk up to the Stanley Hotel and just walk around to that because when you go inside, it's just, it's cool. They've got the original Stanley Steamer in there, and you know, it's like a... And that wasn't a perfect cleaner. No.

That was a car. It was a car. And I just, I don't know, if you've ever seen the movie Somewhere in Time, kind of that 1920s vibe, that's just the vibe you get from it. It's just a walk around and see.

And then on top of it, you go, it's haunted too. It just adds to the coolest actor vibe out of that. Yeah, Stanley was an inventor, and he did the car, the Stanley Steamer car, and the hotel. And it's, you know, it's very what, 19?

10s, 1920s? I think it was built in 1907. 1907. Yeah, so very Edwardian.

And it's very, I mean, it's very cool. Go out and take look at pictures and they keep the grounds nice and... Nice, you know, man. And I found a...

I don't remember where I saw this, probably kick around on Facebook or something, but they had a... Someone got a video with a bear, just wandered in the lobby one day and hung out. And he was like, oh, hey, look out there. So that's kind of cool.

It's a friendly decent hotel. It's got 420 rooms. They have their ballrooms, dining areas, there's underground cave. Had like a theater, didn't they?

That was one of my favorite cars in the school year. Yeah, they had the, uh, the concert hall. I loved when we were in the concert hall, because there was, we were up top and two, telling us about the concert hall and, uh, Annie Brandy's grandma's spirit that was with her actually went over to the messing with the K2. And the tour guide was like, freaking out, she's like, we never get activity up here, and Brandy and everyone's like, oh, no, team's just gonna be like, what's going on?

I'm like, that is... Annie did some door shutting too, didn't she? No, that was actually the spirit to live there. Okay.

I had that. I was so frustrated with that. I actually had the door closing on video, and when I tried to upload it to Facebook, I'm like, upload and it's, or my phone said, you want to discard this video? Like, I wasn't trying to, I was trying to upload it, not delete it.

I didn't hit the lead anywhere. It's like, you want to delete this? And I said, no. And it's like, video deleted.

So it was really weird. That is weird. Like, I didn't try to delete it or anything. My phone just kind of did something and deleted the video.

And I saw that door spong open. That was really cool. It was really cool. Now what was it in the, it was either in the theater or in the assembly hall, but there was something that they had us do with suckers.

What was that? Do you remember that? I don't remember that. I do remember the mirror that they had a stand in front of.

It was something about suckers and you'd put it, like, like the little dumb dums. And I think if you sat on the ledge or on the stage, the spirits would come and push it over. There's a lady on our tour who played the piano really well, and she played, and that was supposed to be a trigger for some of the spirits that were there. If you go on the ghost investigation there, they do really some cool stuff.

And the spirits are quite active. So it was a lot of fun I thought. Yeah. Well, and the funny thing is like in the movie, it's not in the book or in the mini series.

There's no twins, but in the movie there's a set of twins. And I find it interesting because when we were there and you guys were doing the investigation, there was actually a set of twin spirits that they were actually teeny-dub boys. They weren't little girls, but they were, if I remember correctly, kind of, mischievous dicks. I believe there's a bunch of other spirits there as well.

But those are the ones that I kind of remember standing out the most is the fact that there was actually a set of twins in the hotel. Now I've got this list here and I've forwarded it on to both of Chad and Raven here if they open up their Facebook messengers. But I'll start this out with a pull on the note. But this is just kind of a list of the top seven haunted areas in the hotel, and we'll start off with the number one, which is room 217.

Now 217 is actually the room that Stephen King and his wife were staying in when they were at the hotel. Now it says when they arrived, it was closing down for the season and they were the only ones staying overnight. It says eight dinner in an empty dining room and there was pre-recorded orchestra music that was playing over the system. After the dinner, they went up to the room 217 and it was very spacious and it was kind of creepy.

It was very eerie. And this room obviously being 217 is looking at the second floor. No, he ended up waking up in the middle of night. And because he had this nightmare basically that his three-year-old son was being chased through the corridors and he was screaming.

This woke him up out of bed. He kind of got up real quick. After he realized it was a dream, he ended up going out with a balcony, lighting up a cigarette, and writing the book, or at least starting writing the book. I don't know if you finished it there.

But this room was also thought to be haunted by someone named Elizabeth Wilson or Mrs. Wilson. She was the hotel's head housekeeper during a storm in 1911 and she was injured during an explosion as she was lighting the lanterns in room 217. Now she ended up surviving, though she broke her ankles and her spirit seems to be a regular in the room.

A guest have reported items moving, luggage being unpacked, and lights being turned on and off. And Mrs. Wilson, I guess she's also old-fashioned. She doesn't like it when unmarried guests check up together.

So some couples have actually reported feeling a cold force come between them. Now one of the biggest myths about this room is that it's never available. That's actually according to this. It's not true.

You can actually book that room and stay in it if you'd like. It's probably not available because it's probably booked up. Probably if you can book it up enough in advance. I'm sure you can get it.

But if you just go like a 217 when you walk in, probably not. Yeah, probably not going to happen. Do you guys have a list or? Yeah, I got it.

When you go with the next one? The Vortex from an architectural standpoint. The staircase between the floors is the hotel's main. Guest house is a stunner, but the area has all been dubbed the Vortex.

An actual spiral of energy. It's also known as the Rapid Transit System for ghosts that are known to haunt the hotel. And that was a really neat area that the stairways in the hotel. It was the whole hotel is fascinating.

Now you guys actually got to stay in the main hotel. For whatever reason, I went to check in and I had actually booked my room that like Monday before we left on a Friday, I booked it on Monday. I got lucky, got my own room. And when I got there to check in, they had actually upgraded my room to a suite and I stayed in the separate building.

In the annex or whatever it was. I was off in the VIP building basically. Because I remember we got the Continental Breakfast and nobody else did. Like we got the nice building or the new way building.

You either get breakfast or in the... We're ghosts. We don't get both. So if you look at the picture of the front of the hotel, it's gorgeous.

So there's like a big turret right in the center. And if you look off the turret, there's some... Oh, I can't tell you what those are. The windows are kind of stick up on the top of the...

There's a name. Honestly. Dormer windows? Thank you.

If you look at that, I think our room was the one... I think we were the dormer window room just one left of the main turret. Or it might have been the room below that. But it was pretty cool.

We had to be right out the front. So I do know that... So you can book it to hunt on your own, but we didn't... No, so what they did at the time was they had a team that would do the investigations.

And unfortunately when we went, the team was out somewhere else filming a documentary and they were going to be back until the following month. So we just did the tour. I believe since we've been there and I don't know, I haven't really looked into it since, but I do know that shortly after we were there, they stopped doing any paranormal investigations. They continued doing the ghost tours, the guy did tours.

But as far as like letting people actually investigate the hotel, as far as I know, they've actually shut that down. So we went on their tour and they took us around and showed us all the hotspots. I can't stop you from investigating in your own room. I know it's just about...

You're walking around with a K2 meter in your dowsing rod. Yeah, so when they were done, we kind of did our own little clandestine investigation on our own. Seems like we put some skittles or some M&Ms behind one of the captives in the hallway to see if... And I think they got moved.

Do you remember that? I don't remember. I actually didn't do that investigation with you. You guys all came play cards against humanity in my room.

Oh, I've never laughed so hard. And then I believe you all left and went into the investigation brand and I just kind of... And then we went in our room and talked to some spirits. I think, talked to the clues.

I sure I thought Randy was there telling us what they were seeing. I don't remember going back on the main building. So she might have gone with you guys and I know she told you what was going on. I know you also had Brandy Booler there with you.

That's right. But somebody was with us. It's been like five years. There was five years ago.

Something that he tells him. The fact that I remember reading them there is pretty good. So anyway, one of the things on this list they talked about is the concert hall. We've already touched on that a little bit.

But it's interesting if you look at it, it's just a beautiful room. It's got the hardwood floors. It's got pillars on the wall. Great big windows.

It lets have a lot of light. It's a very... Sometimes when you think of a concert room, you think of it kind of dark, but this is very bright and light. There was something to do with the lights in that room.

The spirits like to turn the lights on and off in there. I think it's through a lot of the hotel. But there's also a balcony. And the picture I'm looking at, they've actually taken the picture from the balcony.

And when you go on the tour, I think up in the balcony is where they did the sucker thing. You sit the sucker up and it would come and push it over. And then they took us down onto the stage and talked about the piano a little bit. I think they said that one of the spirits, even tried to play the piano at the summer.

They'd be here with some milks or two that wasn't supposed to happen. So one of the spirits that they say is there in the concert hall is Paul. I guess he's one of the well-known ghost hauntings in Stanley. I guess he was a jack of all trades around the hotel.

Part of his duties, he was... He enforced the 11pm curfew at the hotel, which could be why guests and workers hear him sing get out around late at night. The area is also a favorite spot from the hotel founder Flora Stanley, whose ghost like the invention likes to play the piano. Some of Paul's antics, I guess a construction worker reported, he felt Paul nudged him while he was standing with floors.

And tour groups on the Stanley Ghost doors have reported he flicked the flashlights for them. Now, one of the ghosts that she tends to hang out in the concert hall was her name is Lucy. And I think that she's a runaway or a homeless woman who fell refuge there. And it's pretty...

I was a ghost on the wanted refuge. I'd rather hang out in the concert hall. Is that the one that they said was from the 1970s? It's said that they're not quite sure about her pre-death connection to the hotel.

It doesn't really say when, but she entertains requests of ghost hunters. She's one that will really put flashlights out. She's quite active. She's quite active.

She's very quiet. She's like, okay, I'll help you. I'll help you. So she's helpful.

She's nice. I have to talk a little bit about her name is Lucy, because when I think of Lucy, I can't believe I'm local. They're seeing the demon princess. So, different Lucy?

I don't remember the name of the girl that was downstairs, but I think that was the one from the 70s, the one that closed the door for us. Yeah, and I don't know if that was her or not. It might have not. It could have been because it's the same building.

It was just downstairs in the changing rooms for the concert hall. So the next one is room 401. It says more than a century ago, the entire fourth floor was an attic. Now, it's where female employees, children, and the nanny state.

But today guests will report hearing children running around, laughing, giggling, and playing. Plus, there's a famous closet that tends to open a shut on its own in this room. So, the whole of the fourth floor, they kind of say, you know, if you can get a room on the fourth floor, that's great. You know, any room is haunted, but they give you a badge of honor if you can get 428.

And if you're in room 428, guests will report if you're in footsteps, above them. They hear furniture moving around, but it's actually kind of impossible because of the slope of the roof, you're not going to be walking in person. Yeah, you're just going to fall off. There's no walking or pushing furniture.

So, but if you get that room 428, there's actually a spirit in there. He's friendly, he's a cowboy, and he appears at the corner of the bed. So if you get room 428 and you wake up and there's some dude standing at the bed, that you don't think should be breathed. Oh, it's okay.

It's nice. You know, it's interesting about the furniture stuff moving around. Above them in the room that's on the top floor. I actually explained something like that when I had some friends here, Jimmy and her wife were here for the paranormal convention that happened a couple years ago.

They were actually staying at the Perry Hotel in downtown Salt Lake, and they were also on the top floor. We were in the room kind of just hanging out in chat and we heard loud noises like loud fucks coming from up above us. The thing is, it's the only above us was the roof and there was no one there. Like we actually called down to hotel services, the front desk, and they were like, yeah, there's nobody up there.

So we actually heard loud thumping and stuff like there was someone on the roof above us. You know, there wasn't. Like, yeah, that's what we're going to do there. So next is the Grand Staircase and this is gorgeous.

Again, just, you know, think Titanic era, think that somewhere in time movie era. Have you ever seen somewhere in time? You had to watch it in the city. Not quite as scary as the shiny one.

No, no, but just if you want to just, you know, absorb this whole ambiance and feel of this Edwardian period, but the Grand Staircase is exactly what it sounds like. They've got antique mirrors, they've got portraits hanging on the wall, and it's just, you know, it's beautiful. And a lot of times that main staircase and any building is kind of the, you know, the central main area. In 2016, there was a visitor that came from Houston and he took some pictures of it because why wouldn't you take pictures?

It's gorgeous. And when he got home and he was looking through them, he spotted something at the top of the staircase and he doesn't remember anyone else being up there at the time that he was taking these pictures. And if he looks at it really closely, it's actually a ghostly image of a woman at the top of the stairs. And I think it was a room just off of here.

It was one of the rooms kind of in the main lobby of the hotel because I said it's a little bit museum-like. And they had a flag behind some glass and there was something paranormal about that. Do you remember what that was? I do remember the flag.

I don't remember what the story behind it was though. Yeah, so see, we're awesome. There's a flag. There's some paranormal.

There was a glass case and it was hanging up a wall. I think you can see it facing it or... Anyway, the flag's on it. If you go there, ask them about the flag because there's something paranormal.

I highly recommend it if they still offer the tours taking the tour. It was worth it. They do get to learn about the history of the hotel as well as the spirits. And one of the things I found fascinating before I let Chad talk about the underground caves is I got to ask them about this.

They seem to get more activity in the wintertime than they do in the summertime. And the theory behind that was they think there's a lot of spirits that kind of live in the forest in the woods around the area. And they think that the spirits kind of come down. We've talked about this before too.

Some spirits come across cold to the touch. Now, if it's wintertime and you're already cold, you might not sense their presence. So they might be more willing to kind of come around you and be more active. But yeah, this is one of the things I thought was cool.

So the last thing on the list, we'll let Chad talk about here is the underground caves. Yeah. Oh, before you go into that, I'm a little torqued. How come I didn't know about underground caves?

That would have been my first favorite place to go. I thought we went. We went through a little bit. That's what went through the boiler room.

Remember the boiler room and all of the things? That was about this is how people got from point A to B. That the hotel staff wouldn't be seen very often in the hallways and things because they would move. No, I don't.

Okay, talk about it. Maybe it'll be in the room. Yeah, when we went down to the boiler room, we was totally underneath the hotel. It was in a cave, underneath the hotel.

Yeah, and it was like, I mean, when I say like chisel out, it seems cave-ish, didn't it? You'd actually see some of the foundations on the stilts that the hotel's built on sitting on top of rocks. Okay, no, let's start over there. Yeah, that is what I, the underground caves is, is that this isn't, I don't think like, you know, mammoth caves, or anything like that.

But these are the areas that would be cool. That would be cool though. All right now, I remember it now. Yeah, that was a way that the hotel staff and things could get around.

As I remember, and I could be wrong on this, but they didn't like to have, you know, people transiting the hotel with their work stuff and that kind of stuff. I mean, they'd go from clean room to room and that kind of stuff. But I mean, in those times, they didn't want the staff to be seen. And so they would do all their stuff.

Just wanted stuff mystically to have. Yeah, like at Hogwarts when the food was magically preserved. Yeah, so it says that, you know, the workers moved about the hotel through the caves in the early days and makes sense that this is a popular haunt. Skeptics pass it off as the haunt is breezes from historic piping and ventilation system.

But Beniko Hotel is a higher than average concentration of limestone quartz, which some ghost hunters believe help capture energy at the property. Yeah, places where there's a lot of water too tends to attract the spirits. I don't know if it would help capture energy as more provide energy for the spirits. And that would make sense to me.

Like if you've got a natural source of energy that's still connected to the earth, spirits being active in that area makes complete sense. So that's just kind of this list that we came over. Like I said, this is gonna be kind of a quick episode of, I don't think we need to get too much into the shining other than it's a creepy ass book. I mean, it's a creepy movie.

It's the book and I actually had this conversation with a friend of mine like two days ago. The movie is it just kind of seems like he's more or less just kind of a, I mean, he's recovering alcoholic and it just seems like him becoming an alcoholic again and just like going crazy. But the book and the TV series actually kind of show his descent in demand and it actually shows more about how the paranormal side of things, the movie, the standard creepy movie, the 70s, you know, 1977 or whatever year came out. It doesn't really involve the paranormal as much as the book actually did.

There was so much more to it. I mean, like you did see like things where he's in the hotel or in the bar and the drinking with all the dead people. Yeah, but there's a lot more to it. Like Danny actually saw things he wasn't just talking to Tony wasn't just his imaginary friend he talked to his finger to like in the movie.

Tony was like a legit spirit. It was kind of like a spirit guy that helped him out. And so the creepy factor and the fact that there was so much paranormal stuff like the hedges. I don't believe they were there when we went, but there was hedges and in the book and the TV series, hedges actually came to life and attacked Jack and Daniel on separate occasions.

And if I'm spoiling anything for you, I'm sorry, but this has been out for like 50 years. So 40, 50 years. It's been out for quite a while. So there's just if you have a chance to get the book, I know it's on Amazon Kindle.

I actually downloaded the audio version that listened to my card and it's creepy as hell. Like if you thought the movie was scary, the book is way worse. It's really enjoyable. I highly recommend it.

Yeah. And if you're listening to this, you're probably interested in paranormal and maybe your significant other friends aren't, but I would still suggest you get a chance hop over to SS Park, Colorado, because there's this downly. There's more to do there than just the paranormal side of it. It's right there by a big beautiful national park.

The town in SS Park in and of itself, I mean, it's on those stores, you walk up and down the street and it's just covered in, you know, little art stores and t-shirt shops. And it's a ski area, I believe. I've never been there in the winter, but I think you can go there and ski. So that would just be a really great little weekend trip for somebody if that's your interest.

Yeah, that's a great little. It's just kind of like a resort town. Yeah, more or less. Talked away in the middle of SS Park, so on the canyon.

And if you go on Labor Day weekend, I don't remember that this year because of the COVID, but they've got a really good Highland Games of the fact that competition there. So if that's your thing too, I would go Labor Day weekend. So yeah, that's our quick little bit on the Stanley Hotel. I know we're a little bit over half an hour, not quite to an hour.

No paranormal news this week or stone because we were just kind of thrown together and wasn't our originally planned topic. Yeah, it's our supernatural 45. Supernatural three quarters of an hour. So I hope you enjoyed this episode.

We look forward to bringing you another one next week. And it should be really gruesome because people are sick and twisted back in the 17th and 18th and 19th centuries. Oh my goodness, they really are. So I'm glad that people don't act on their twisted ideas today like they did back then, because I know people still don't think of crazy shit like that.

So yeah, look forward to our next episode on torture devices. I want to make some comments but we'll wait for the actual episode. And do remember about our paranormal investigation at the Mercury Cemetery on the 19th at 730. Go to advancedparanormal.com to get tickets.

We're hoping to get a number of people there and have a fun investigation. Yeah, it'll be fun. That's a fun thing. All right.

Until then, we'll see you on the next one. See you next week. Bye. Peace out butterflies.
