Soon after the release of Star Wars in 1977, Lucasfilm realized that the universe George Lucas created was big enough for stories beyond the movies. Thus began the Expanded Universe, full of further adventures of our heroes. In 2014, with the Sequel Trilogy on the horizon, Lucasfilm declared that the Expanded Universe would not factor in to the canon that would be established in the upcoming entries. Join with me as I discuss my feelings on this new division, as well as answer the million-dollar question: which do I prefer?
