Star Wars: Comics In Canon - Ep 38: Grand Admiral Thrawn’s Ascent In The Empire And Meeting Pryce & Yularen

This week features the 6-part mini-series; Thrawn; adapted from the canon novel of the same name (set between Revenge Of The Sith & A New Hope), showing how he was enrolled into the Empire, his rise in the ranks, how other officers viewed him, his work with Wullf Yularen & Governor Pryce, his aide Eli Vanto and more! Thrawn was written by Timothy Zahn but was adapted for comics by Jody Houser. The artist was Luke Ross, with colourist Nolan Woodard. Issue 1 was released February 2018, issue 6 was released July 2018 and the trade paperback was released September 2018. Thrawn was introduced into the canon in season 3 of the show Star Wars Rebels, he is also in the 3 Thrawn books (Thrawn; Alliances & Treason, all set before the season 4 finale of Rebels). In addition, the first book in the Ascendancy trilogy (set before the Thrawn trilogy & Rebels) is called Chaos Rising – it’s sequel, Greater Good will be released April 2021! Thrawn’s first appearance was in the legends Heir To The Empire trilogy, created by Timothy Zahn.
