With the win, the Stars reduced their magic number to clinch home ice advantage for the first round playoff series against the Wild to two points. In a high-tension, fight-filled affair, Wyatt Johnston scored his 44th goal of the year to give Dallas an early 1-0 lead. Minnesota answered with three-straight goals; a Quinn Hughes even strength tally and two power play goals by Kirill Kaprizov. Colin Blackwell cut the deficit to 3-2 and then Cameron Hughes scored his first career NHL goal to tie it at 3-3. However, Ryan Hartman scored Minnesota’s third power play goal of the night with 11 seconds left in the second period. Mikko Rantanen tied the game at 4-4 and then Jason Robertson got the game-winner, his 42nd goal of the year.
