I wrote two, and then tried my hand at short stories, the second of which sold to Asimov’s Science Fiction. After that, I was hooked.My story “The Telling”, originally published by Beneath Ceaseless Skies, won the 2013 World Fantasy Award for Short Fiction.  And my story “Bloom” from the December 2013 issue of Asimov’s was a finalist for the Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award.My day job is in filmmaking; currently I wrangle spaceships and superheroes at the legendary Industrial Light & Magic in San Francisco.
