Not everyone is given the same opportunities. Rather than focusing on the things we don’t have, and the opportunities we didn’t receive, we must fully focus on making the most of the gifts, opportunities, and resources we do have. I believe each of us is called to embrace Zechariah’s advice not to “despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin" 4:10Each of us is called to begin the work of developing and employing our gifts to make ourselves and the world at least a little better than it was before. We start where we are.
