Starting Position Battle Takes Interesting Turn... + Penn State's WRs Keep Making Plays!

Penn State football training camp is already producing a fascinating position battle at left tackle. Malachi Goodman entered camp as the favorite to protect Rocco Becht’s blind side, but Anthony Donkoh and Garrett Sexton are making Penn State’s offensive line competition much more interesting after the first two practices. We break down what the early rotations could mean for Goodman, Donkoh, Sexton, Owen Aliciene, Brock Riker and Dominic Rulli. Plus, Penn State’s wide receivers had a strong Day 2 as Brett Eskildsen made the catch of practice, Zay Robinson continued making plays and Koby Howard continued building an impressive connection with Rocco Becht. Chase Sowell, Benjamin Brahmer and Andrew Rappleyea also factor into what could become a deep group of pass catchers. It is still extremely early in Matt Campbell’s first Penn State training camp, but these battles matter. The offensive line configuration will determine who protects Becht, while the emerging wide receiver rotation could determine just how dangerous Penn State’s passing attack becomes in 2026.
