Startup Funding Espresso -- The Goal of the Pitch Deck

from Investor Connect Podcast

Hello, this is Hall T. Martin with the Startup Funding Espresso -- your daily shot of startup funding and investing. The goal of the pitch deck is to introduce your deal to an investor and find out what is essential to that investor. The goal is not to tell your full story or explain how your product works. From this pitch, you want a follow-up meeting with the investor. Good pitch decks show what you are doing and the opportunity to grow more with funding. Ideal pitches show the proposed outcome is going to happen with or without the investor. In other words, the outcome is inevitable. Inevitability comes from the team knowing what they are doing. They are committed and well on their way already. The results are up on there for everyone to see what has been done so far.The slides serve the presenter, not the other way around. You are the presentation -- not the slides. Avoid discussing multiple scenarios as investors will find it difficult to keep track.Focus on the core message -- it's one product, one team, one market, one fundraise and one outcome. Thank you for joining us for the Startup Funding Espresso where we help startups and investors connect for funding.Let's go startup something today.-----For more episodes from Investor Connect, please visit the site at: http://investorconnect.orgCheck out our other podcasts here: https://investorconnect.org/For Investors check out: https://tencapital.group/investor-landing/ For Startups check out: https://tencapital.group/company-landing/ For eGuides check out: https://tencapital.group/education/ For upcoming Events, check out https://tencapital.group/events/ For Feedback please contact [email protected]
