This uncomfortable passage teaches that not everyone who professes to know Jesus actually knows Him. The comfort comes when we understand the true marks of knowing Jesus: perseverance in the waiting and living an active faith. In light of this parable’s insight, Christians can confidently keep their faith bright and the Kingdom’s lamps lit until the Bridegroom finally returns.
