"Staying 'Rooted' for Your Advent Journey" 1:1 Conversation with Dr Scott Hefelfinger, Augustine Institute

In this Say Yes to Holiness 1:1 Conversation podcast, Christina speaks with Dr. Scott Hefelfinger, Theologian and Professor at the Augustine Institute about the upcoming new series, "Rooted: Rediscover the Jesse Tree." Dr Scott and I had a wonderful conversation about his own journey of faith and how Scripture has been a source of knowing God's love. We especially focused on how our story is God's story and is a part of salvation history. We often forget this reality, and how this can become an entry point into a deeper relationship with Christ.  To that end, Dr Scott saw his family's Jesse Tree celebration as a way to share that reality, and from that insight came a new 22-episode series that guides Catholics through a daily Advent reflection using the Jesse Tree model traditionally practiced by families. Each seven-minute episode introduces the ancestors of Jesus Christ, shares a Scripture passage, and offers an engaging, practical reflection. The Rooted series is designed to help viewers apply the passage and related teachings to each day of Advent, and in the process, we lay the foundation necessary for each of us to find the fullness of joy, peace and love of the Christmas season.  This conversation was a wonderful reminder that every one of us matters since we each have a page to write in the great story of salvation.
