STEAM Initiative in Kenya & the Goal of Empowering Girls and Women Through College and STEM Careers.

from STEAM Sparks - Think STEAM Careers · host InTouch STEAM Connection with Dr. O.

I started another journey in my career based on my passion for bringing awareness to the importance of pursuing college and a career in the STEM fields and the benefits to our BIPOC communities. Although I initially felt intimidated, after carefully considering the source of fear, I concluded that I also have a story rooted in my community and a passion for STEM education to share. I hope my conversation with guests with a background in the STEM and STEAM fields will bring awareness about the importance of STEM education as a source of empowerment that could better position the next generation and help increase our representation of the BIPOC communities in the STEM fields. I was privileged and honored to talk with Caroline Nyaga about her STEAM Initiative in Kenya and her goal of empowering girls and women by pursuing college and STEM careers. • Caroline is the Founder of the Kenyan Women in STEAM Initiative. • Professionally, she is a passionate education in STEAM. • Currently, she teaches interdisciplinary courses, Biology, and Chemistry. • She is exuberant and a go-getter. • Caroline loves empowering girls and young women to be self-sufficient to develop themselves through self-discovery and enhancement to become productive and proactive individuals in society who are able. • She is a firm believer in the teachings of The Lord Jesus Christ.
