Steam Up! Interview with designers Pauline-Fate Kong and Marie Wong

from GMS Magazine RPG and Board Games Podcast

I talk with Pauline-Fate Kong and Marie Wong about Steam Up! A feast of Dim Sum, on Kickstarter at the time of publishing. This podcast is made for people like you. Thank you for being there. Welcome to the GMS Podcast episode 425 a podcast about the people who make and the people who play tabletop board games and roleplaying games. Once upon a time in the Far East, deep in the mountains of a mythical land, there was a world-renowned Dim Sum restaurant by the name of Steam Up. It was the first restaurant of its kind to achieve the three Gold Ingot status. According to the Gold Ingot Guide, Steam Up was best known for its top 5 most popular Dim Sum: juicy shrimp dumpling, tender meat dumpling, soft and fluffy BBQ meat bun, flavorful sticky rice, and exotic phoenix claw. These heavenly tastes drew food enthusiasts and gourmets from all over the world! Come join us on a feast of Dim Sum. You are invited! Get the game in KS: https://bit.ly/steamupKS Find out more on the publisher’s site: https://hotbananagame.com/ I am Paco García and in this episode… I talk with Pauline-Fate Kong and Marie Wong about Steam Up! A feast of Dim Sum, a lightweight boardgame for 2 to 5 people that plays in 40 to 60 minutes and has been designed with the cultural background of the designers very much in mind. I talked with both designers about their background in gaming, how they have gone about designing and making sure the game is solid both in mechanics and production, what was the motivation and the reception the game has had. I even make a prediction on the number of backers this game will have in Kickstarter and have a request for a very special edition of this game that I am sure you’ll all want to see too.
