The Pittsburgh Steelers, man. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Aaron Rodgers have finally agreed to terms on a contract that will make Rodgers their starting QB for the 2025-26 season. The one year, 13.65 million deal includes 10 million guarantee and can be worth up to 19.5 million with incentives. What are your expectations for the Steelers now that Rodgers has officially owned the team?
I hate it. Absolutely. And I despise the move. Can't hate it more.
But Pittsburgh organization just for the past four years, I don't really know who's in charge anymore. I don't really know what's going on. A lot of the fan base that I interact with in Reddit streets they're all confused. Half of the people they Mike Tomlin is the emperor of Pittsburgh who controls every single decision.
He's ruining the franchise. The other half is blaming this on the runies and the fact that they're cheap and they're trying to run the team like it's 1975 still. And that type of confusion from those two camps, it leads me to just not knowing what's going on. So you have in the last three years the ability and the hope of certain fans to draft young talent.
They have not done that. Every single season preseason, they pick the Steelers to win five games. And I think that they're doing that right now as well. The issue is that they're going to probably win 11 games with Aaron Rodgers and they're probably going to lose in the first round again because they're not really getting younger at key positions and they're getting older at other key positions.
So relying on DJ Y and Cam Hayward to win you five games again with Aaron Rodgers, I think he's better than Russell Wilson as a passer right now, if not like on par. But I just take the move because I just don't know who's in charge. Oh, I think when you say Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers I think they don't par. What's the reason this is a bad move for the Steelers because we had that essentially in place last year.
And even if you want to take a step down and see what Justin feels give you inside into the discount contract, like the Jets did, you're still in a better position than you are with a one year of Aaron Rodgers. Like the benefit of the doubt is being given to Aaron Rodgers to think that he can come in and take my team here and we may place possibly make a deep play off when the 14 JY gets too old. It's ridiculous. There's nothing that's been shown from Aaron Rodgers for the last five years that would say, oh man, he can take those deep play out to possibly win a Super Bowl.
So it's not an individual. It's not an individual. Individually, team, how do you want to paint it? Aaron Rodgers is not a dude that you've seen in the last five years.
You say, man, he might come in and possibly win a Super Bowl. That's insane. Exactly. They give him a bit of a doubt because of his history.
OK, but at the end of the day, that's respect Aaron. That's number one, number two. Wait, wait, wait, wait. What's the lose of the game?
Russell Russell Russell was the last I respect when he was still with the franchise that drafted him. When they threw the ball at the goal, when you have somebody made Marshall Lynch. That's what they lost. Stop.
I'm not blaming that on Russell. I'm not blaming that on Russell. What I'm saying is they lost respect for Russell Wilson for throwing that in a set. And his career has been a downhill trajectory ever since.
That's number one. Number two is that with the Steelers, the mindset here's the thing. I'm not pro Aaron Rodgers to the Steelers because I feel like this is not a long term solution. And ever since Ben Roth is retired, they haven't been able to find the incumbent.
That's the overarching issue. Aaron Rodgers doesn't solve that. But the idea is if we're in one of the toughest divisions in football, we don't have losing seasons. And we feel that we're literally a quarterback away from making a run.
I can see logically from their standpoint, why this makes sense for them. Again, I'm with y'all because even if Aaron Rodgers does something good, right? Like, let's say they make the AFC Championship game. You bring Aaron Rodgers back?
How long are you going to do that for? Because you don't have a long runway there. You know what I'm saying? The reason why the Steelers have become the Steelers in modern era is because you drafted Ben Rothlessberg.
And Ben Rothlessberg got you to two championships. You need to find the Arab parent. And that's their issue, that they haven't drafted Groob or brought in a guy that has enough runway. Now, the reports are that they wanted to keep Justin Fields.
But if I was Justin Fields, I would've wanted to say after they treated me how they treated me. You know what I'm saying? I started with one that you started Russell Wilson over. So I'm not just a few.
One of those other people got them to the leeway to be like, I don't want to be here. He should. Yeah, and that was draft picks tied to that too. But FIFA, you know what you said, you talked about Russell Wilson losing respect of that game.
When did Aaron Rodgers, what has he done since then himself in that same amount of time? He had done anything. He said five years ago. Okay.
Yeah, all I'm saying is that he hasn't lost respect in the lead. Why? Why? Why?
What is he doing? You're going to tell me to rustle his ultra stick on that Super Bowl player. If you're going to tell me that and then tell me that Aaron Rodgers has lost no respect, there's some crazy going on right there. The one thing that we think about we think about Aaron Rodgers is when he been back to a Super Bowl.
And every time you think about him, you think about the off-field distraction that he's become in these last few years. He does more from that than he has on a football field. Also, we look at Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is not one player away.
They don't even have a starting running back. You just traded away your number two receiver, your long and tooth on defense. They got a lot of weaknesses on that team. I would say something though is like, I think this may be right.
Y'all can easily correct me if I'm wrong. There's only four quarterbacks right now that got a Super Bowl. It's Rodgers, Patty, Stafford, and Hurts. So, Wait, that's the key.
Me and that, like the only ones who got experience who got who have like deep postseason experience. Everybody else from the niggas who we say in is better and they're not going to get to the air Rodgers have probably not even yet to make it to us. So, let's do it. Let's do Super Bowl appearances in the last.
Let's do Super Bowl appearances in the last. That's brilliant to me. He about to get good. I mean, he probably won't start.
But Super Bowl appearances, to me in the last seven, eight seasons, I'll give that respect. Really six, seven, honestly, eight is kind of stretching it. But, yeah, I mean, I don't know. It's just, with the Steelers, there's just like, y'all just saying there's too many issues.
I don't understand the philosophy that they're building with. I used to have coherence, like my father's a Steelers fan. So, it's like, I grew up on like the Che Townsend. I grew up on Charles Palomado and Casey Hampton.
Like, these are real dogs. Like, you know what I'm saying? They're fadting all these people. I tailor.
So, when I see what the Steelers have become, to me, this just can't be the doing of one coach. Like, this just looks like two organizational, in that, to me, it looks like there's too many cooks in the kitchen. It looks like some I could be having their authority overridden, some I could have too much authority, and there's just infighting that we're not hearing. And the reason why I say that is because the Steelers have kept infighting under wraps for so long with different players.
They, Tom and this is the ultimate band-aid for Antonio Brown's issues. As long as you go out there and perform, I'll protect you from the media. George Pickens for three years. And George Pickens was ready to crash out after every game.
And Tom would put his arm around him and say, yo, just chill. I got you until he can't, until he can't protect you anymore. So I feel like if that's how you are with players, there has to be within the brass problems going on. I'm saying this can't, they can't get in the can on this shit.
They ain't trying to say the real shit. I ain't having to do this. That's why I'm trying to let y'all talk first. See if somebody gonna stand up, I know you're who she is, ain't gonna do it.
See what's fucking up. See what's fucking up. See what's fucking up. So you gotta say that, I'm saying it.
No, I'm saying it. I'm saying it. I'm saying it. I'm saying it.
It ain't got nothing to do with this move inside of your right. The ceiling is fucking up is because they could have drafted Shador in hella rounds to where they could have played both sides of this of where like we bring in this young QB who has potential and he can be quote on quote, grown with I don't know if Aaron Rodgers, I mean, he did something with Jordan Love said he helped him out a few times. So he could give him some advice to help bring him along. So no matter how good or bad this season went, we still got somebody in the wings.
Somebody could have gotten the third order fourth round. You know what I'm saying? You ain't even have to reach to get him. So to me, it's just like you didn't do all that to just wait what two months longer than you probably could have to sign a 40 year old drug addict.
It's like he fucking up and y'all keep on trying to say, well, it's still, you know what I'm saying? He ain't got no loser record. I'm like, that's fine. But you know what he right now?
He had to right now show him he real me. This is still has been real me for a long time. You know, it ain't gonna take you over the top of the do see the eye. They put a lot of blue.
He was holding the splits since 2016. They put a lot of the burden on Mike Tom and being such a good coach because any other innovative organization, even if you had no plans to draft to do a sentence, you still can take a flyer on him once he starts dropping down in the draft. And now to you guys point, I at least if he comes in here and plays as well, if people have been reporting he plays and kept at least got a flyer on the future. The reason that this Aaron Rodgers decision is so dumb is because like I can't remember who just said it.
It's just like kicking the can down the road. Like this may be good for what a year? Two years possibly? Who knows if we don't even know if Aaron Rodgers is gonna come back if he does go to an AFC championship game.
We don't know how him and Tom are going to get to react with each other. So maybe eight week nine, we 10, when Aaron Rodgers started tripping, shit even a training camp, we don't even know if Aaron Rodgers is gonna come to training camp, he's notorious for that. It's like it's a whole lot of problems that the Steelers are signing up, but it just don't seem to be worth it. And if there was somebody that was called Aaron in the front office, they would say, you know what?
Let's go ahead and draft the quarterback. And a lot of the... They said they drafted Will Howard. Right.
A lot of the reasons why I thought maybe, you know, well, one of the reasons why I thought that people could have used excuse for not to draft what you're doing was a circus that it brings for bringing them out of the team. And that would have been a good excuse for Pittsburgh if they had not brought in a bigger circus by starting to interrupt us. gonna be in the arch sweepstakes you already know that so what is your plan going forward who is the answer we know that you already know what happens something that too many niggas I was going to quarterback it ain't do shit we can always like what we're all about that the local here is here like I thought you were behind this move yeah well just you know it's my favorite why you take you know I was across that you were behind the movie was behind it you defended it the last time we talked about this you did yeah if y'all talking about oh I'm gonna take Mason Rudolph into the season versus ever Rogers yeah take Aaron Rodgers but I think we're talking about the should do a thing and you were like they weren't gonna draft your do because they signed Aaron Rodgers that's the plan y'all wasn't in support of it though that was just what I was doing yeah I went in support of them doing it I just seen what they were doing I've never been in support of it and now even when my take on Justin Fields throughout the years of doing this that probably would have been the best route for them just keeping just a field like and seeing over the next two to three years what we have here because you have a coach to have enough leeway to be like okay if they go five in 12 next season it's fine because they not go fire my time and then we'll position to possibly draft our quarterback you don't know they don't know they're not gonna fight my time that you don't know they're my time for going five and twelve years shit organization I'm working with you I mean I think that we have to start approaching them like that at this point not like maybe not shitty but just organization like I keep saying it the philosophy you probably do but like yeah I mean maybe say me to pedestrian and purgatory all these words about being in the middle like not knowing where to go you're not great and you're not trash and that's the worst place to be in professional boards because there's no where to build off of just being cool like this that's that's you know me that's the worst there's nowhere in life where it's cool they're like if someone makes food like that you know like how is it come on make you give me some feedback a girl you want to fucking date with how was the date bro and I'm a I'm a I'm a taters right now cute I agree exactly what you say and however McDonald's is an enfranchise and it sells billions by the day and if a girl's a but it had but she's available niggas don't crack what are you what they're pointing out is that we're gonna dark star they will accept anything when you are used to five stars as a Steelers fans from 70s 80s 90s early 2000 when you used a five star restaurant and now it's checking the nuggets and soda or are you looking at them like bro you fell off like what's going on like and that's where I'm saying the coherence is going where is the philosophy where's it at it speaks to what you said there is no spark in the front office there's no spark like they're not doing or haven't done anything in a long time to make you say damn that was an interesting or good move they tried last year with Wilson and just a few but even now they fuck that up like that was something they could have built on for a couple of years when he knocked me a lot of money on quarterback's work it gave them an opportunity to explore what they had okay we'll be having a conversation we're having even I don't agree with it I think we had it last year just a minute like okay wait so Justin Fields had that over looming thing of Wilson is going to be the starter whenever he gets help if I bring Justin Fields back regardless of how I feel about him as a starter quarterback they say we going into this season what you being the starter and preparing him as a starter you get a much clearer picture on now and the future if he can or can't play if Aaron Rodgers comes in he's great I still don't know that he's coming back next year I think we knew what feels was enough to not worry about you. I think he's the last shot.
I'm pushing on my cryptocurrency on Justin Fields. I mean he's James Winston. He's gonna go around he's gonna win a couple games he might win a couple games he might win five six games on a really bad team but he's gonna be journeying the rest of the fight. You know what I think he is I think he's an athletic you know Smith.
I think he's tired right there. I think he's gonna have a you know Smith with the Jets. But that goes to what I'm saying we're having the current same conversation. The conversation doesn't change.
You know you it is a beauty. I think that even more said so says that there was a bad move because we're still talking about what could have been with other quarterbacks what might be with future quarterbacks even though they've signed what they think is their quarterback right now and nobody's convinced like hey man still is my habit chances I got Aaron Rodgers we don't know we've seen him play for the last three years he may suck. I don't know what's going on. I don't know what's going on.
They said they may trade for a crystal lava that's a potential. That's cool. They got my territory. He came back up.
Make a I get that but you know he's like it's sold and he has a lot of respect for Mike Tom and they've been in communication since this whole thing started but it's so it's easy. It's easy and the honeymoon phase kid you have a honeymoon phase. Watch how they should change with Freddy Cup. Why do I need to hear?
Yeah you know. He's a four year old drug addict. You can only expect so much. Aaron Rodgers is going to skip OTA's.
We get a D-Pock Chopra reading. Every day they're gonna be talking about why Aaron Rodgers is out here and then we're gonna get two or three weeks of the season. He got the mission passes. Oh that would help if he was an OTA's.
Like we've seen everything fucking tried. I'm making this you know he I was wondering if something was different because he signed so quickly. I'm like they make him come in. He's not gonna be there bro.
I tell you it was not there though. T.J. why it's not there. That's gonna hurt a little bit if he's ready to go.
Because T.J. he's tired of having to win the first six games by his damn self every season. Anyone is money. My brother is a kid.
He's a squazzy kid. He's a good dude. This is coming. As far as that.
Back at that back half of that season was about about him too. It was just about his money. Oh he started to look old. He knows.
But because it's nuts how you can pay cam Hayward and then you don't got money for me. Like cam Hayward is 36. I'm what? You know I'm 33.
We have a long way to go but I'm curious. Who's the office coordinator that you guys know? And yeah. From Atlanta.
Arthur Smith. Arthur Smith. He took up high and after that. Arthur Smith was milking Aaron Rodgers.
Yes. He was not afraid to make it. He worked with Daniel Hackett. Fuck.
The Steelers have been afraid to make moves and they're looking very Sacramento Kings. It's gonna be lamely. I'm just being real. I mean yeah I mean we have enough historical contacts to judge what we've seen.
And you know I mean it's clear as day when Big Ben retired. They didn't have a plan of Big Ben held a hostage for a couple of years. You know and they weren't prepared on what to do after the fat. They all can't pick who was gonna be it.
Wasn't it? And they should have had us in the GM War Room. Can't you like let us do Fiasco? Yeah.
Let us do Fiasco. Yeah and I don't know who's actually running. As well as asking I don't know if the kids are running things now. I think the kids are running things now.
I think the kids don't know. I think the kids running a lot of shit. The kids running some of the bangle shit. That's how shit ain't working.
We got to grow up. But it's crazy on how Tom and has, Tom and Steadiness has made us forget a lot of the who who he was thinking of something. I forget. I don't know.
I don't know. I don't know. I'm here. The Steelers are manipulating the coaching genius.
Oh my God. That's it. I know. They know.
They're going to go. Yeah. Exactly. So I'm not going to say this.
This is my time. I'm not going to say this. If you remove, if you remove my time and this franchise with like a couple of Cardinals. The Giants.
Not even the Cardinals. The Giants. My time is my time has been working. Coach said he's through nine wins since he's been there.
And that's what making it look like. Oh, it's the Steelers. They got a French. That's not how you go.
That's not how we go. Remember him. Because we go. Remember.
I'm going to say this. I'm going to say this. And I'm going to say it right now because I'm going to say earlier. I'm going to call me a head anyway.
They just going to look back and say, Sierra Leone and Pennsylvania. Not my time. Because the Sierra Leone get one more. They just going to be saying who the fuck is my time.
I'm going to say. I'm going to say. You know, I'm going to say I did the same shit. Tom and did so far as career.
My time. How is his GM. He would have six wins. And I got to do move.
Like I told you move. If my grandma had wings, she'll be a bad. You want to say anyway. You want to say.
You want to say. I need to say. You want to say. I'm going to say.
I'm going to say. I'm going to say. He almost got fired. He almost got fired.
I'm going to go into the NFC championship game. Exactly. He almost did. You know what I'm saying?
You know what I'm saying? I'm going to say no viral. But I did. Regardless.
Regardless. Regardless. We might be in a position now where Mike Thomas coaching might be more of a detriment to his than his. And I'm the sense that he's a bad coach.
I think he's a great coach. But doing he is like bro, he's making a lunchables into like a three star restaurant. We are. Because every season.
Every season. Yeah, he's literally shopping like do from the bear with lunchables. And the reason why is that it matters. Because I'm not sure I hear his bangles like spice right now.
But like this thing is the influence every season preseason preseason. Oh, but he was going to win four or five games. I'll be shocked if they win five series games. And then everything is.
And every season. He won 11 games. That's kind of cool. Really quick.
I'm going to let you go. He went 10 11 games. And then after that we saw him. Should Mike Tom McGurf already can't win a game.
So which one is. Can I ask you a question? Q. What's the majority of Mike Thomas tenure with Big Ben?
Like was it more than like five or six seasons you say? I would say it's like 90% with Big Ben. OK. So you said that he's making lunchables.
Can't about. He's saying like a lunch. So Antonio Brown in his prime was a lunchable. Sheldon.
He's a Y in the prime with a lunchable. Sheldon. Who else he has? He has a couple of niggas.
Cameron Hayward. That's a lunchable. Yeah. I'm just saying like a lot of what y'all saying is my Tomlins record.
That was above 500 came through with Big Ben in a big three. Oh, let me be able to watch the whole show. You don't say about it. No, I'm saying about it.
I'm saying. I'm saying. He didn't do it. He didn't take it to the level that he's supposed to.
A lot of times. I'm going to say that. I want to be honest. Tomlin.
No. Let's talk about Tomlin when he gets fired. Yeah. I mean, this is becoming the LeBron is the goat conversation over and over again.
Nobody's introducing anything. Yeah, it's just for Tomlin. I'm going to show you don't forget, Ken. Because they got to talk.
You know, Nick and you're going to be a reductive. Because we'll go back and watch those games and see who was available to play. But because OK, so you can't. Let me be on Bell not playing.
I understand.
