This is the place where sports are being scalloped. Getting sports, I'm your host, Gary Vans. Join me. I got Nick.
It was what I said. I like about to say something else. It's more than a scale. It's less than a scale to grow actually is.
Yeah, no, no, no, no, no. Yeah, Spike. Spike has a link. So he's wrapping up another week in the books.
Make sure you guys check that out. It's this podcast that he does. So I'll let you guys give it a listen. It's actually really good.
It's like is it's almost like it's another side of spite. So so yeah, but yeah, man, we have written news yesterday. So we just wanted to hop on here real quick to discuss the trade that took place. And also there was breaking news today that happened with the Knicks as well.
So there he is right there. So just in time, so we got to get into. So while I let Spike into the room here, we are scheduled to do the league today, which would be also on the debt and sports Twitch. So FIFA was running my husband was he got to go.
So I'm going to have to switch to the screen here. I don't know how you got this thing. How do I get to spike on here? Anyway, let me let me let me go back to this.
Oh, I lost everybody. There we go. Yep. Yep.
Y'all get any one of these horseback. Yeah, you definitely do. We got to upgrade that schoolhouse right back. Yeah.
So, uh, I make a camera career. What is that? Oh, let's try to change it. Oh, yeah, I know what happened.
Let me just this while we don't there. But, um, yeah, we'll get you one brother, man. But anyway, um, stuff on this, man. He got traded.
Uh, kicked out above a low for picks of all things. Uh, let's see here. So what do we got here? Um, I was actually surprised.
They got it. They got a second and where is it? Oh, wow. I see.
Yeah. Second and two day three draft picks. Um, for four digs. So I'll get the exact details of that.
But let me pull up our outline here real quick. And I'll hand it down the floor to you guys. So let's let's say this from the the bills perspective. So, um, what do you guys think about what they gave up?
And where do you guys think they're going to go moving forward? You can start looking at it. The bills gave up. Uh, they, they bought into believing that Josh Allen is actually Superman.
And he's not. And they gave up, uh, they've given up in the sense of they let a majority of their good defensive players go. Uh, they let their best offensive weapon go besides Josh Allen. I don't think they have a notable running back or receiver in the building, but it feels like they've been listening to ESPN.
They've been listening to Fox Sports. They've been listening to all the media outlets to tell them, Oh, Josh, I'm in the Superman. He can do this by itself. And now they're trying to test that theory and I feel like they'll get everybody fired.
And Josh Allen going to be in a rebuilding Buffalo for the next three to four years. Somebody said in the shed, they got to run it back. I don't know who that is. It's on my James Cook and come up bro.
Come on, man. If I was Josh Allen, that's what I would have said coming in the building. Y'all should have digs. Y'all leaving me and James Cook out here to cook all season.
Nah. Uh, before I go, can you make one? Um, just have me and Lou just be the, uh, tiny screens of your full screen. If that helps because I don't eat.
No, I got it. I got a y'all cook. Yeah. Yeah.
But, um, for me it was, uh, this is the, I'm not really shocked that they trade digs. Um, I was hearing, uh, at least I was reading up on it. They made, they were probably honestly thinking about trading in the last season after they lost to the, or the season that they lost to the bingo soon that play out game where he had to his hands up. I think they were saying there was trade talks to them, but I guess they couldn't figure it out.
And it would make sense for how this season went as far as that second half where like you see them not going to him much. And usually they do that when they try to like not give, you know, there's a sentence for like, uh, why receivers to get like, if you get these many catches or these many of these many times, I was getting more money. Usually they stopped doing that when an organization tried to be shite and shit. Um, so I'm not surprised that they traded him.
I am surprised they traded him to Houston, but I am surprised the compensation they got back for him. Cause I think in my opinion, he's still, he's still a top eight, uh, while receiving the lead. Like I don't think he can name eight wide receivers that are better than Stefan Diggs. Um, wholeheartedly, you could probably say like who's next up, but I don't think you can say that right now.
Um, and just to get a second round pick in 2025's draft class, not even this year's draft class, when obviously the bills lost half the defense, they lost both the safeties. One of the linebackers was really good. It's coming off of a major injury, uh, Von Miller, ain't Von Miller, no more. And he still cost you hella, um, the lost Jamie's wife, cause they couldn't afford him.
Um, and then on top of that, you take a 30 plus million dollar cap hit just to get rid of him. So it actually was cheaper to keep him, even though he had his antics with him as far as digs. So I don't know what really they're doing. I'm not going to go as far as loose.
Like they gave up. I just think that the iteration that they had is done and they're trying to rebuild something new around out. I think a lot of people are seeing what happened in Kansas city as far as when they gave up to Rekill and how they still were able to compete and rebuild as they were going. But obviously that only helps if you got the greatest quarterback of all time.
You just got a mistake. Like Josh Allen is not Patrick Mahomes. You can't do the same things that you do with Patrick Mahomes. And again, even with that, it being Patrick Mahomes, you Sheldon, FIFA, y'all killed Kansas city all season.
All they need help. They need this. They need that and Patrick Mahomes came through and finally won a Super Bowl for him. Josh Allen is not Patrick Mahomes.
He cannot, regardless of how good they think he is in Buffalo, them calling him Superman, wanting him to be MVP. He can't do what Patrick Mahomes do. There has to be another element to the Buffalo Bill scene to make them successful and they don't have it. It ain't there.
It ain't the defense. You're going to run it back. It's Kincaid is good. I see the chest saying that that's acceptable.
But he's not Travis Kelsey. I don't want to. The reason why I'm shocked is because the conversation I got back makes doesn't make any sense as far as where the bills are at and what they keep on telling the media and their fans as far as they're trying to compete for some goals. They keep on talking all this shit ever since they had that epic playoff loss of the Chiefs two, three seasons down a goal, which is probably the highest thing they got going for themselves when it comes to like the confidence they had that they can go against the Chiefs.
But they've been like every iteration they they they bished about throughout the seat throughout the last five or five years. They got in their favor. They were bitching about the being a one seed or two seed that year that once in a darn ham got hurt, they got that they bished about. Oh, we wait till y'all get to our we play at home.
No one wants to play the bills at home in Buffalo. The Bengals and the Chiefs prove that it don't matter. And then they they're now bitches about days. You see, all the fans saying like, I'm so glad that they got rid of the things.
This is a great thing. And I'm like, like, I don't understand what certain NFL teams are doing. Now, the whole ticket I had as far as Patty and the Chiefs, I still hold that. I still don't feel like they're giving how given Patty Hollywood Brown ain't saying nothing to go home about either.
But he was super bold with the squad. I was shit. No less. He was he won.
You know, he won a Super Bowl. He won a Super Bowl with a great defense. I don't offensively. I mean, we talked about how the Ravens didn't come back with the Chiefs are doing.
We talked about how I mean, I talked about how the things were hurt. Obviously, it was a lot of this was the best year to get the Chiefs and no one stepped up. Whether through injury or just through their poor performance, no one really stepped up. And now the Chiefs are, I guess we're going to expect them to get better offensively through the draft.
But they proven that they don't really need to as long as you got the greatest quarterback of all time. But my thing with the Bills is just that right now, they're going to have to suck for the next two years because this upcoming season, obviously, they're not going to really compete. I mean, the Vegas still says they're the best to win the East. But I think the Jets are going to be the better team this year.
I think it's just a favor now. The Jets are the last time I saw Vegas, I still had to build up like up front. It was the Bills, the offense, then the Jets. I think they're just going off of history as far as like the Jets ain't ever really done shit since Marc Sanchez days.
But in my mind, it's just like the GMs are just getting cocky. Like just because you have, I do agree that Josh Allen is the top five QB. If he want to argue these top three, that's fine or top two. But as far as the results show, he has not done anything, whether it's an individual standpoint, as far as when MVPs, or she has it, or from a team standpoint, he's really only gotten he's only gotten out of the second round once and they got blown out by the team.
Like they keep losing to the Chiefs. So it's like if you can't beat them and you clearly can't join them, what do you do now? So it's just like, I don't really know what direction they're going in. And it seems like Charmander should have been fired sometime in between the playoff game against the Chiefs where they lost in 13 seconds until this past season.
But I just they really should have hired Brian Debo and fired Charmander. But obviously that's Bill Milk right now as far as the trade from the Buffalo standpoint, they're going to be not going to say they're bottom-dweller because they still have Josh Allen, but they're not I don't see them be are they better than are they better than obviously we're going to talk about Texas. Are they better than the Texans? Are they better than even the Titans right now as far as the team is concerned?
I understand. I'm just saying like, when you look at this roster, but it's literally the roster. I hear the bill. It's like look at the bills, Ross, but it's really the Carolina Panthers, except they up north.
Like what receivers are you talking about? What running back are you talking about? The tight ends like outside of Kansas City, who's really got a great tight end? Maybe in Baltimore, but and Mark Andrews is getting older and we clearly know Travis Kelsey is getting older.
He's about to be out of league about three years, if not less. So it's just like tight ends ain't going to move the needle. You know what I'm saying? Like it's never been that case.
So I just don't know where they're going. I don't think that they're like, I don't think this is over for Josh Allen throughout his whole career, but right now that window is closed. They're not going to know who goes anytime soon. So do you think the bills are expected to go to the playoffs?
I want to be surprised if they did, but they'll be like a wildcard right? Like 6, 7, C. I don't see them. I don't see them win the division and I don't see them having a better record than like, obviously somebody's going to have to win the AFC North, but you still going to have two teams coming out.
I think it's going to be Baltimore's going to be the darling of that division. And you have Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, but you have to say something about that. And then you might have Cleveland if the Sean Watson, yeah, if the Sean Watson puts, you know, gets off the massage tape, what you could probably do something. But outside of that, you still got to get you got two teams that may come out of the AFC South and Jacksonville and Texans.
And then you don't know how good Anthony Richardson is because he was hurt. So maybe the Colts, they did something with Garner Minshew. So they may be able to do something with Anthony Richardson. It's just like, there's so many other teams that we could talk about that actually have a talent and either a above average quarterback or a young QB who could still do something.
I just don't know. I just don't see the bills really doing much. I agree with you. I think this may be a downturn for them this year.
However, I don't think that that's what they were expecting in doing this. I think they have their delusion over. I think that their delusional enough to think that Josh Allen can do what Patrick Mahomes did last year and they can do they can maintain their current position. They can maintain the position of with the best in the AFCs.
We're going to go to the playoffs. We got Josh Allen as our quarterback. We may have average to below average receivers and they're going to be able to get it done all because we have Josh Allen. Also like you said too, the bills defense isn't the chief defense.
That's not the same thing. I don't think the bills are recognizing that aspect of it, which makes me think they put way too much state in Josh Allen, into Josh Allen. There is no way that he's going to be able to perform the way that Patrick Mahomes did throughout this season and keep his team afloat the way that Patrick Mahomes did with the weapons that he had. So I think they're going to take a significant step back.
I think they're going to step a lot back and not even make the playoffs maybe third or last in AFC East because you still have the dolphins who have a team together that's been together. They've won. They put up points. You have the jets that got Aaron Rodgers coming back.
No, I'm not too sure what they would do, but I still think they could finish at least third. And then I mean, the last thing that you have is the jets, the bills, the dolphins. Who the other same? Patrick's.
John, Patrick's going to do a shit. I think absolutely going to be late. My thing is like every team who pays a quarterback who they consider is a top five or a top five quarterback. And that's what they assume when you give them all this money.
Once that money starts kicking in because Josh Allen's money is going to either kick in this year or next season where it goes from like less than 12 million to where it balloons to 30 million in the year after that it goes to 60. It's like you're going to have those seasons where it's just going to be like, all right, y'all, the credit card bill dude, we'll say it right now. We got to pay this. We got to pay this.
We got to take this L for the season. That's the crazy thing about trading digs, though, because they had him on the contract. If I'm not mistaken for the next three years. No, this is like, this is like, like, after the season, the Texans gave him the rest of these years off in order to take the contract on.
I think that he was signed under contract. I read this somewhere where it popped on the alert. I didn't actually click on the link. When I said that the Texans relieved him of the last couple of years of the contract in order to make the deal happen.
However, had he stayed with the bills, he would have been signed with them for the next two or three years. I'm not sure what was going on in the locker room. I knew you mentioned that Nick, but I don't care if I'm the GM. Y'all better figure it out.
I'm not trading you for a second, bro. I'm not trading you for the 28th pick in the draft and a couple of six round picks hoping that I can get somebody from my star quarterback to figure it out with. You better figure it out. He better figure it out.
You won't be able to just lock over the next two years. That's my stance as a GM. I get you, but that's only if y'all win it. What do they win, bro?
What do they win, bro? What do they win? What's the playoffs? They always do.
They always do that. They get bounced. They don't even do that. They don't even do that.
They don't even do that. They don't even do that. They don't even do that. They don't even do that.
They don't even do that. They don't even do that. I don't think they're going to be that bad. I don't think they're going to be that bad.
Because Josh Allen isn't, you got to get credit where credit is due. He is not a bottom 15 quarterback. That's where you get six and 11. He's a top five quarterback.
I can say that comfortably. I don't know if he's top three anymore. We'll see this up coming season, especially without all his weapons or his major weapon. But for me, it's more about the conversation they got back.
Unless the league really just doesn't want to deal with the drama that Stefan Diggs is. That's why the only conversation you get back is a second round pick in next year's draft. Even though it's the Minnesota Vikings pick, so we'd expect the Vikings to be shittier this year. It could be a great turnaround as far as what happens in that 2025 draft class.
Right now, we all talk about how deep the wide receivers are. I would think you at least get a second third round pick in this year's draft because they need to wide receivers. They need a little bit too of everything. They need to know as arch of a draft class.
They need to have everything. They got the 28 pick. They're going to get part of the fourth or fifth best receiver in this draft. That's going to be Keon Coleman or Winston Madani Mitchell.
Are you trusting that person to help you and Josh Allen go to the playoffs again? I trust that if Josh Allen is the QB that people have been saying that they can at least get the seven seed in the playoffs just on the season. If they don't get that. That's fair.
I'm not a Josh Allen. I don't see that and I don't think that's fair to him. Well, because he's not there to him to say we're going to get rid of all the talent on the team and we still expect you to make a wild card. That's crazy.
I mean, honestly, do we expect the Texans to make a playoff game or be a playoff team just like when they drafted over all this past season? But since they've seen that it was going that way, just to push it, they make it. I know, but I'm just saying that football is funny as far as like we're going to get to the Texans like two seasons ago, bro. You when if I told you that seven days we traded Houston and they're going to be the favorites over the bills as far as competing for a title, you would laugh in my face and say, get the fuck out of here.
Can't take his mind. You know what I'm saying? But that's the situation where a lot of shit can happen in football and less than a season or two. But my thing is that if Josh Allen is the QB that they say he is, he should be able to at least make his team competitive to get to the playoffs.
They get two wins easy off the facing the wing wins twice a year and they should be able to split at least one of those games with Miami because Miami don't like to play the cold. That's three games there. Josh Allen should be at least worth five games as far as the QB. You can sneak in with the nine, ten wins season.
But I mean, the only great that I will say to my point that I'm making is that the AFC just got so much harder because we don't know what Jim Harbaugh is going to do this year to draft. He could turn around the Chargers in a season two. We don't know again what the rest of that that. We don't know what the Jets going to be.
They could be great. They could be shitty. He was a stream that we expect the Bengals, the Ravens and the Steelers to be competitive. We expect.
I understand like the guarantees. We have a lot more guarantees than the AFC is going to be the hardest conference in probably NFL history right now. I think the Browns are more of a guarantee than the Bills because they have the Sean Watson and weapons to move around him. They have a defense.
They have a running back. They have a number one receiver. If you go into next season, you're telling me if the Bills are going to be better than the Browns, I would have a hard time believing it. It's like the show Watson is done.
It's a wrap. The Browns with the playoffs with Joe Flacko here. Yeah, they were right. But they were not going to the playoffs with the show.
Yeah, that's the push. That's what I don't know if he's done. I don't know if I'm going to be on the same boat, but you can't say that he's all the way over the road. I would have to see the first four games of this season to actually officially consider him done.
I think after an off season, they had some success last year. They get their number one running back back. I think that there may be room for improvement there. So I would take the Browns to but a Bills.
What do you think about the Bills? No, not even a playoff team based off of the same base off the straight. I think they'll play off team. I think they'll definitely find a receiver or two in the draft.
I think that if you are in a lead quarter, that top five, you should be able to make it work with whoever you got a new roster. They got Khalil Shakira who had a couple of good games last year. They got Curtis Samuel and whoever they draft. So it's up to Josh Allen to make it work.
That's, if you're a top five quarter, you should be able to do that. What other top four effects in the league right now other than the pass from my home. Who's the top five quarter? I say in your mind, Lou, but in his league right now.
Let's just say in the AFC, not even say the league because he has to just compete in the conference. So let's listen to some homes. It's Lamar. You can borrow on that list.
Burro. Are you putting? I'm still putting Herbert on that list. He didn't even make the playoffs.
Okay, cool. I'll put Shroud. Well, I can't put Shroud in Atlanta. I'll put Allen in there.
Okay. So you have Justin Herbert over C.J. Shroud. Yes.
And I have Allen over C.J. Shroud. That's insane. Okay.
So either way, Josh Allen over C.J. Shroud is just it's insight. No, Justin Herbert over C.J. Shroud is in because at least C.J.
Shroud is going to play off game. Well, no, Burro. Allen. My homes.
My homes. Jackson. Jackson. That's four already.
And who was the who did you just say? I have C.J. Shroud over Herbert. Yes.
I'm not doing that. That's maybe five. A and five B, but I'm not doing Shroud. It's off one year.
Just off one year. The Texans have a better chance to compete for a time than a fucking other charge. I don't have anything to do with having them at the time at five quarterback. I agree with you there.
Yes. The Texans have a much better team. Shroud is coming off of a much better season, but they don't mean to hit a quarterback. It hurts.
Shroud season. I'm trying to Herbert do it damn near Dolo for the last three years. And even what do you mean, what do you mean, damn near Dolo? And we just volunteer if they're not winning.
They want to win because they have the worst coaching in this world. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Well, you have Lamar can do it if my homes has done it. That's the problem. He's not as good as Lamar. He's not as good at the homes and they're trying to make him out to be.
He's not as good as Burro. He ain't even as good as Herbert. Burro guy weapons though. Who?
Burro guy weapons. He does. He ain't even as good as Herbert though. Herbert don't got weapons no more.
He probably still I will put my money on if you ask me to bet who has a better season. Josh Allen or Justin Herbert. I'm going with Herbert to find that. Are we talking about wins or losses?
We're talking about wins or losses and I'm talking about yards and I'm talking about touchdown passes and a fissing. So if you're talking about the QBR right at the end of the year, if you're talking about who had the best stats, if you're talking about who team did better this year going into the season, only when a new coach because Herbert lost his top two receivers as well. I would take him over Josh Allen this year. Well, let's go to the other goddess and next top five, at least in the AFC.
Let's look at the Texans. They made some this is a really interesting move now that we're seeing the rest of it. So of course they gave up a second. They got digs, but they also got a sixth and a fifth.
They faced them. For along with this, which is kind of insane to me. So in fifth and sixth players, they hit a miss, but nevertheless, it's an asset, right? Then they decided to wipe out the rest of his contract and they took 3.5 million guaranteed to this next season and moved it to this season, giving him 22.52 million guaranteed money in 2024.
I don't really care about the money. The thing for me is you basically made him available as a free agent after this year. So you gave up a second for a one year potential rental. What the hell is it?
What a second. What doesn't belong to them is the Viking. They didn't give up their own. So they still have their own pick.
Now it was only valuable based off of the expectations of the Vikings being shitballed this upcoming season. So the 2025, that could have been a high second round pick. But if you're only thinking about that, if you're thinking this is not the year to go all in. Like to me, I really think that the GM for the Texans has done a phenomenal job in over the last three years as far as from where they were before C.J.
Shrouts, where they are now afterwards. I think that pushing all of Stefan Diggs money to this year is makes even the most sense because if he is a headache like how he was in Minnesota and in Buffalo, it don't matter because he's got it there. And it also incentivizes Diggs to ball out more because this is a contract year now. So he can't be bitching in moment because he knows that that's going to get put out in the public.
It's already put out in the public that he's a diva, which isn't really surprising because he's still a productive wide receiver and wide receivers who are productive are divas. So I just think that and then on top of that, Diggs has a chip on a shoulder proof that Buffalo fucked up and trading him within the conference to a competing team. I think the Texans from getting Joe mixed in to getting the defensive players they got in free agency to now this trade. I mean, I don't see how you can't say that they're again, we said this, I said this in chat, how they're not the best team in Texas right now.
Like they have like, hey, if I was a Cowboys fan, I would be upset. I would be upset, highly upset that CJ, and the boys that are about four or five hours away in Houston are going to have a better season than me. I think I have a better season than the Cowboys based off with their last, based off last year when they had a better season than the Cowboys. You mean, I can go back to just as fast as he's a little, what are you talking about?
That was an original question. I don't even want to focus on it. What was the original question? I'm sorry.
Well, just evaluate in the trade from their perspective. I mean, they got, they basically got a one year, that's somebody put in the chat and one year trial. Yeah, they gave up the second round pick from the Vikings, but that's still an asset unless it's upcoming draft class next year's trash. I think that's what people are saying that.
I think that was smart to what Nick said. We get a rental on digs. We're not under salary cap Hill. So we can see what this looks like.
And if we want to resign him next year, we're able to do so. However, if there is a problem, like there was in Minnesota, like there was in Buffalo, and we can just let him go. We ain't got to let him ruin our young quarterback. So I do like the fact that they're able to do that.
I think the Houston came out on top on this deal. And again, I don't know what Buffalo is thinking. I don't know what they got going on. I don't know what their game plan is in the future, but I do think that Houston has a solid game plan.
As far as the new head coach last year, they had the number one and number two defensive in office at picks will Anderson turn out to be obese. C.J. Shroud turned out to be obese. They have a while receivers that we had never heard of.
They turned out to be great and have some amazing games. If you can plug digs into that and not be obligated to have to move him forward. If he's a locker room influence that you would like it to be, the Texans came out on top. They're winning.
I don't know about the best team in Texas just because I'm biased. However, I do understand how people are really high on the Texas right now. They Super Bowl odds with way up. And I like C.J.
Tryout. I like all the receivers mixing as a beast. There's nothing bad that you can say about the Texas right now. The Super Window is now.
I mean, I can't compete next year. Can I said this years ago on Dead in Sports, it was one of my first early takes that y'all laughed at me because I said the wrong QB, even though it came out right towards the 20 times, that was it still makes sense with Jerry golf. But I said back then, I was like, with Jerry golf was with the Rams. Remember he had his first year with, who's that shitty ass coach that no one gives a fuck about no more?
Jeff Fisher. Jeff Fisher with shitball. Then Shami Vay got there. They turned it around and he got into a Super Bowl in his second or third year.
So I was working deal. And then I told y'all that I was like, bro, this is going to be the new wave. Everybody's going to draft the quarterback and use all and use as much as they can out of that rookie deal when it's cheap as shit, when you're paying a quarterback with like less than $50 million for over a four or five year period and just load up everywhere else. Now that's what the Texans are doing.
They're Super Bowl window is now, which is why I don't mind them giving up draft picks because when you have a quarterback who is arguably like me, people like me and I'm sure there's people playing a people Houston will say the same thing. C.J. Shire right now is a top five quarterback in the AOC. I don't think you could really say anybody else.
You can mention Justin Herbert's and the Trevor Lawrence's, but they haven't done, they haven't shown this much flash or haven't done as much playoff success as he has already in his young career. And on top of that, you've now loaded him up to probably the best receiving core or the best offensive weapons as far as for a QB to have in a conference. I mean, right now it's just between the Texans, the Bengals, they might just be done too. If you were to think maybe the Jets, if you're talking about as far as receiving core of like collection of people, I don't see what I'm saying right now, it's just like the Texans are in the, if I was a bad man, I would bet $1,000 on the Texas Texas Bowl.
And I'm not saying they are going with this. I'm just saying like, no, you're not, there's no way you've been that much on a second year quarterback winning the Super Bowl. He's not saying I'm saying they're going to win the Super Bowl. I'm saying like somebody was the bet on that.
I'm going to say that's not really a bad bet. There's no, the Texans will be good. They have a really good roster. They've made some really good moves.
They can win the Super Bowl next year. It's crazy though. But look, listen to me, look at this. As far as, right now, you know, you would take them over to Ravens, you would take them over to Dolphins, you would take them over like, hell yes, on the Dolphins.
Honestly, bro, and I know Ken goes mad when I say this man, Lamar Jackson, I'll watch. Let's keep it up. My God, bro. Wait, pick up a microphone, bro.
I don't know what he's looking for. All I'm saying is this, Ken, because I know my philosophy when it comes to players in general. What is it? You're just saying this, as you've seen more of Lamar Jackson, that you had of CJ Shroud.
Once you see CJ Shroud go out and struggle this upcoming year and not do what you expect him to do, you go up the same way about him that you feel about Lamar. I want to have a better chance to win the Super Bowl next year than CJ Shroud. You said we said it by Lamar Jackson for the last two, three seasons. What happened?
One, two, three, I'm not saying they're in comparison to the league or expectations. I'm saying they're in comparison to CJ Shroud. If I had a Lamar Jackson or CJ Shroud next year, yes, CJ Shroud is good. Yes, he does very well.
He can lead a team or whatnot. But you're asking me who's going to win a Super Bowl? You know why I'm taking Shroud over Lamar, bro? I'm telling you this right now.
What I'm saying is this, this past season, we saw the best playoff run Lamar Jackson has ever had in his career, correct? Mm-hmm. Because he got to see, talking, what he's supposed to say. Don't look at that, look at that, look at that.
Just say yes, you agree. And also in this season, we saw one of the best rookie campaign runs. We've seen in a long time, if not ever, in CJ Shroud and they both got to the division around. Now, obviously, the Ravens blew out the Texans, but I was in the second half.
That first half, look, we was in that chat, like, hey, bro, if Lamar can take it out by CJ, it's a rap. It's a rap. It was close for us. It was close for us.
It wasn't until the, I forgot, it was basically the defense ended up being able to take a Strout and the Texans out of it. That's because he's throwing into fucking eco-cans and not even tanked it. So it's just like, again, the talent was going to eventually separate. But where we are right now, where we are right now, I like their receivers way more than the Ravens.
And I know that's not saying much because I've always been critical of the Ravens where I receive a court. Right now, the run game is the only thing that the Ravens have, but that's only because their quarterback is also their running back in most cases. I mean, I mean, for me, as far as passing wise, I trust CJ Shroud is a quarterback right now when it comes to the last time. When it comes to passing, Murrow, Herb Street, or whatever, I'm talking about, I didn't say overall quarterback.
I'm just talking about passing wise because I saw Lamar trying to do some shit in that AOC title game and we both came on here and said, what the hell you doing? That's what he was talking about. He was talking about one of the folks. His best pass was to himself in that game.
So it was off in the coordinator for the minor. They did not put him in position to make passes now for you or to scare the defense to win that game. That was a Lamar for. All I'm saying is that there's only a few quarterbacks that we say we don't want you to throw.
And Lamar's one of them. When it comes to where the Texans are, again, we are talking about potential right now. Obviously, we're talking about betting for this is all potential talk. But right now the Texans are a, to me, the three four teams that we got looking at AOC is the Chiefs, of course, the Cincinnati Bengals.
I'm going to say the Ravens because I'm going to say title game and the last team I'll probably say is the Jets. Just because I think this is the last week's A-ride and we sleep it on all the moves that the Jets have made recently. But the Texans, bro, they've turned from shit to gold quickest since I've seen when the Cincinnati did it when they went to school. Yeah.
I'm not there yet. I mean, I'm sorry. The chief's brother with the AFC is wide open. No, no, I don't know.
That doesn't sound made. That's what I said outside the Chiefs. But I mean, like the chiefs obviously are there. The Denver Nuggets.
They're the ones that when it comes to a playoff series or whatever, a playoff game, we're not really going back against them. But but outside of that we're just talking about who's competing. I mean, it could be anybody as long as you healthy. All right.
Well, we'll see. Last day we got here. The Julius Randall was out for the season. Yeah, and the books are 15 and 14 since Doc took over.
And the magic are two games out of second place in the east, which is insane. Wow. Talk about the confidence. You know, I heard that today and I was like, that don't even make sense to me.
It doesn't. And I know we can easily look at Doc Rivers and it will be well deserved. You can't ignore where it's taking place since he got there. But I got to look at Giannis, bro.
I got to look at Giannis. Not Rubas and Scamma, kid. He's got the matter, bro. Giannis has been there.
That's Giannis team. If Giannis was responsible for running this coach out because of his sorry, his brother and got Doc Rivers there and he's not able to lead that locker room as the guy, as the franchise player, then that tells me a lot about him and his leadership. What are we going to say to Doc Rivers as a cancer? You been saying that for years.
I'm saying we as a collective because I know I've been saying, I'm just saying, what are we going to admit that? Because I know Ken is going to grow up to support about blaming the best player on the team who won him a championship in the last 50 years. So I'm not going there just yet. But I'm just saying, when are we going to put, again, we saw what Giannis was with another coach.
He was 30 and 13. So I don't think Giannis is the problem because they were winning games before Doc got there. So that's the whole point. Yeah, Giannis just didn't like him.
Which as the organization went about, as the organization I went with, lose strategy as far as when he was talking about Stephon Diggs and saying, suck it up. Deal with it. We still competing. I would have told Giannis the same fucking thing.
Now, granted, obviously that's going to be my work. So if you talk to Giannis like that, he's going to leave and you're going to be a Siberian. You're going to be a Siberian again. It's a franchise.
It's like the end zone justified means as far as how we got here. Like, yeah, now you may Giannis happy, but now you're losing or not winning as much as you did and y'all don't look like shit. You got to at least be a second seed in the East. You got to lose it to the magic.
They are the second season in the East. And you break up a good point. Nick, as far as like, are we trying to win or are we trying to keep Giannis happy? And if we try to win, then it's like what we doing with the bill is a Stephon Diggs.
Like, man, shut up, bro. Like sucking up, keeping up. We 30 and 14 and we're going to keep it moving or we're going to play Kaito what you got to go on and we're going to bring in Doc and we're going to lose half of the games that we played over the last 30 games. However, our superstars happy and he's willing to resign with us and we can keep the bars full in downtown Milwaukee and we can keep people coming to the games, whichever one of those two games that you want to play.
If you were the GM and Milwaukee, that's what you're able to do. They picked. Oh, we're going to go with Giannis and the meal ticket versus or we're going to win games. And I think it's coming back to bite them in the ass.
I think Nick, your point to what you've been saying about Doc all this time is right. He don't give two fucks, bro. I'm here to make my money. I don't give a fuck if we win.
I'm going to play golf Monday, three Thursday and Friday. I don't care. Nothing about the shoot arounds or the coaching. I'm here as strictly a bigger head.
So what? And what is calling him out on it. Just listen to his press conference post game. He's talking about some I've been taking notes and we don't seem like we're not.
He said everybody happy with me. We don't seem to have a sense of professionalism on a road. What the hell is that? That showed that that's why they brought you in, bro.
That's the reason that you were a consultant. So these things wouldn't happen and the coach before you wouldn't get fired, but he did and they still hired you as a coach. He was the main person that was supposed to make sure that do the coach before him was doing his job correctly. And then he got promoted when they found out he wasn't doing his alcohol.
This crazy. Doc Rivers is one of the luckiest niggas in sports. All right. Tell me y'all.
Y'all just letting this shit happen. It's on his watch. He African came and he came and he said, this is a good week for West Africans. I said, I knew him.
Oh, Joe, man, this is always so much to blame. They don't get the struggle. And they don't get the struggle to. I told him, I'll do it at an apology tour.
He started, somebody should have attacked him on a shoulder and be like, shady should have done that or at least Joe, he was already a real dude. He was just, they didn't have to really do it. He was like, oh, it was a short break. The cussets and I said, I'll just tell you what they're saying.
She was just like, just start off with a segment talking about some of the non racial. I used to be a non-binary. Yeah, like I'm like, bro, just saying what you want to say. Let me get you out of this purse.
Do y'all think like when y'all seen Angel re-scrying at the press conference and he going into the bag that she went into, did y'all feel like, oh man, get out of here or could y'all relate to what she was trying to get us trapped over there? It's like, can we don't make sure? I was like, I can't say nothing. I'll say this though.
I had more time to think about it. In context, because like what Emil Ocho said, there's a kernel of truth in there. It's just the wrong time in the brain. It's just the wrong time.
No, no, no, no. Joy is absolutely right. She's 99% right. I said, I actually got the 1%.
That's all I'm saying. The main thing is this was her last year. She's already won the title. She's won all this stuff.
She was, I guess, just off of the loss. She's from the whole emotions of losing to the team that she beat last year. She's just saying like, this is what I've been going through and she got emotional in that in her last game as a college athlete. Okay, let her have her moment.
That's my thing. You can let that moment go. He didn't have to double down the way he did. Now the only thing is the line night that she put herself in does come with a lot of, you won't get a lot of guns.
You won't get a lot of guns. You'll get a big target on you. I think that she may have naively went into it like that because she brought on a lot of attention to herself, which made her a lot of money. I don't blame her for it.
But at the same time, we've seen, she watches sports because she's in it. You've seen other athletes get death threats. Russell Westbrook brought a lot of the stuff about how racist stuff is. You see the death threats when he was on the Lakers and stuff like that.
When LeBron get nigga sprayed across his garage door like this, there's a lot of stuff that comes in sports that I feel like a lot of athletes. We just watch it on TV and we don't always sit with it. But then when you're in it, it's a whole different picture. So I think that she felt the consequences harder than a lot of people because of just where she put herself in.
However, again, that was the wrong time to call her out on it. You could call her out on it in the past when she was competing not during her last game or you know, she got kicked out by the team that beat her. And if anything, it was the white woman that beat her. So you know what I'm saying?
This is like, come on, bro. It's just time it was horrible. Oh, Joe was completely wrong with it. I told him I told him I told him I told him I told him I told him I told him I told him whatever the nigga named.
I ain't even got to get his name right for how wrong he was for that. And I'll take the time to kill the pro-set. Matthew McConaughey took with that movie and imagine if that was Kaitlyn Clark up there crying and saying that she felt the same way that Reese felt. There wouldn't have been no backlash.
It would have been all sympathy for her as a as a oh God. You see the white girl up there crying talking about how they sexualized her. That's what would have happened. It was.
No, no, no, no, no. You know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, I'm right. You know, I'm saying she got to get this state farm and all state commercial. You know what I'm saying?
All I'm saying is the way that people went or attacked Angel Reese and said, oh, but she said that she was the villain. Oh, but she did the Tonya Yo, you can see me. They would have never did that if Kaitlyn Clark went up there and cried and they would have never cited the same sources for her. Is this just because Angel Reese looked how she looked and asked how she acted.
They did that because of that spot. It's not because of that spot. It's not because of that spot. We talk about it on Patreon.
It's not because of that spot. I'll make sure y'all subscribe. I'll say and I'll say the rest for later. Is that?
And, uh, I told whatever his name is. He turned it to a white man overnight. They came out of nowhere and they definitely, Angel Reese and I'm here for that. Hey, I told, I told Lou for years.
I was like, bro, I don't fuck with Ocho. Like, he's just different, but that's like, trying to say, that's like, say, say, Drake is the same thing as a money bag. I think it's this. Ocho is East African, the West.
He's not your name, bro. He's not your name, bro. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
He's not. But, um, no, it's just he, he, he's trying to be, he was trying to be, he thought he was, he thought he had it the perfect way to enter the country. Oh, he had bars, bro. He thought he had bars, bro.
He thought he called it what he said, courage, the Cali dog. I was like, oh, this nigga, I'm gonna be non binary and non like he thought he was cooking. He thought you could have that conversation. I'm like, bro, what the fuck is you talking about?
Don't we care about that word salad? Just say what you want to say. That's not things like, if you don't disrespect somebody or if you're gonna say something like flat out bluntly, just go ahead and say it. Trying to cover it up and all that other shit is gonna make you sound stupid.
I know that's not even word, but that's what it's, but that's how he said, how he said he's out of the stupider. He said, so just say what you want to say, bro. He just wanted to say that she can't talk shit because she been talking shit all year. And he was trying to bring that same energy that we bring to other athletes like that.
We're trying to say she can't talk shit because she black and we don't look at black people talking shit. We don't look at black people talking shit like we look at everybody. That's what he said. And then we're gonna get out of it.
I wear it. We needed it. We needed to win. I'm glad we beat Sacramento.
I was watching while we were recording. So we needed that win. General Brunson, general Brunson to get MVP honors. He should be at least top three, top four.
I'll say that because he's literally carrying this team into the playoffs when no one is expecting with that roster. No one should be expecting them to be a top four seed or top five seed in the east. But I think this should be the last year of Julius Randall. I think we should get off his contract as far as other Nick fans.
