Stellar Nursery

I read recently that, in our Milky Way galaxy, seven new stars are born every year. Given there are an estimated 100 billion galaxies, and the universe is expected to last a while yet, that's an encouraging thought. https://www.nasa.gov/centers/goddard/news/topstory/2006/milkyway_seven.html The act of creation is ongoing. --------------- I also created a track about the death of stars, here: https://soundcloud.com/dacca/death-of-a-star --------------- Image: The Seven Sisters Pose for Spitzer, NASA JPL, 2007 https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/spaceimages/details.php?id=pia09263
