You shuffle your feet, extend your hands, and hope you don't stub a toe on the coffee table. The moment someone flips the light switch, everything changes. The room hasn't actually altered, but your vision has. You can finally see things as they truly are. That is precisely what God’s Word does for our inner lives. The psalmist writes that the unfolding—or the entrance—of God's truth brings light. When we open Scripture with a heart ready to listen, God illuminates the dark, foggy, or confusing areas of our minds. ​Notice who receives this clarity: "the simple." ​In the biblical sense, being "simple" isn't an insult to your intelligence. It refers to someone who is teachable, humble, and aware that they don't have all the answers. You don't need a seminary degree or complex theology background toreceive God's wisdom.
