Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. Blood is essential to help patients survive surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. This lifesaving care starts with one person making a generous donation. The need for blood is constant. But only about 3% of age-eligible people donate blood yearly. You can help the American Red Cross make sure that supply meets demand.Now in its 43rd year, the Gail Singer Memorial Blood Drive has grown into the largest and longest-running blood drive in New Hampshire and has collected more than 28,000 lifesaving blood donations. This year, the team aims to collect another 1,000 donations over two days – blood that will help patients throughout the Granite State and across the country.The 43rd Annual Gail Singer Memorial Blood Drive will take place August 26th and 27th, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m at the DoubleTree by Hilton located at 700 Elm Street in Manchester N.H.Stephen Singer, long-time drive champion and Gail’s brother-in-law, joined Mike Pomp on the Morning Information Center to talk about the extreme need for blood right now and the importance of this drive.
