Stepping Back vs Stepping Away and setting boundaries.

from Recovering You Hosted by Cameron Harrison

There is a big difference between taking a step back and stepping away. As we begin to grow older and learn more and more what our values are, we will find ourselves drawn to certain principles, people, careers, relationships, and pathways of life. And we will find ourselves, pulling away from others. It is our responsibility to evaluate Each of those things and determine what our core values are and why it’s important that we stay true to those values. In order to do this, most effectively, we need to make sure that we don’t just turn away, but we take a step back and evaluate our lives, and the processes that we go through. It’s important that we lean into what is best for us and our lives. And as painful as this might be sometimes, we will need to set boundaries in order to establish a zone around ourselves of safety and confidence. We set boundaries because that’s how we show people how to love us best. As difficult as it might be. We need to remember that we don’t live this life for others, we live this life to reach our greatest potential, and do what we must to return to our heavenly father. Have you had to change course or establish boundaries in your life? We would love to hear about it. You can reach us as usual at our email: [email protected].
